Default selling section!

jennifer, i read in other posts that you are thinking about selling designer bags? is that right? are you going to do that on ebelle5?

i think you should set up like an online market for tBF members only where eBay or boutique owners can come to sell there stuff! :D

I thought that would be a great idea also! Because then people could ask fellow mem:) bers what we thought of the items before they bought anything!

that does sound like a great idea. however, the only thing im worried about is 'scammers' that sell fakes sneaking on there.

as great as that would be, I think it would make things too complicated for Jennifer. Plus girls we would be spending a lot more on handbags with the added allure.

I honestly don't think that's a good idea right now. This forum is fairly new and bringing a sales area will only bring scammers here who have no other interest in the forum.

I totally agree. I hate those forums who's admin or moderaters dont filter that crap out. Most of the time, well on the sites that I have been to they are advertising fake designer items - which I am strongly against.

Hmm...I think a selling section would be nice, but like you said, Jennifer, it could be a liability issue. You know what you could do is make a requirement for people to members for a certain amount of time and be ACTIVE on the board within that time frame. Also...you could hide the selling section. I used to be on a board where if I didn't log in, I couldn't tell that there was a selling/trading section; it just looked like a fansite to me (it was a site for collecting gemstones...yeah, I had interesting hobbies ). In that way, the moderator could weed out those who just wanted to sell versus those who liked the board.

I am reconsidering the idea.. .possibly within a month or so I will set up something like that, and where members need to have over (maybe) 2,000 post. Right now since the new bag forum is only about a month old I should wait for more people to sign up.

Also I'm not so worried about it being a liability anymore, I just have to write up something and make it a sticky thread.

Thank you for your feedback

No problem I'd be so happy if we had a buying/selling board! I'd probably do a lot of buying, LOL.

I added a selling section This is my attempt to keep advertising out of the forum. So if you want to advertise or make notice of your designer bags on ebay, from your boutique or if you want to cut out the cost completely and post it up there, then all you need to do is get to 500 posts Or if you want to buy from your tBF friends here then all you need to do is hit 500.

See you all there

After thinking it over I realized its not that big of a liabilty issue as I originally thought. <- -main reason for being so hesitate over the idea.

Besides, I mean why not. :D

I think it's a good idea as long as, like you said, you can keep the scammers out. I think with making sure people have invested in this site will keep the "bad" people out. Are there any rules us sellers need to know before we post anything?
