Handbag designer Amanda Brotman, is hosting a trunk show for her collection Amanda Pearl at Henri Bendel this week - Thursday thru Sunday, November 6th 9th. In addition, select one-of-a-kind pearl clutches, her signature style, will be available at a discounted price.

Armed with a collection of vintage fabrics and beads gathered from her travels around the world, Amanda Pearl Brotman began constructing fait la main evening bags out of her Greenwich Village apartment. The elegant, yet refreshingly quirky designs quickly turned into a collection inspired by antique jewelry, textiles, modern art, vintage travel posters and fashion and culture of the Fifties and Sixties, officially launching in February of 2008.

Amanda Brotman is the creative force behind Amanda Pearl. Named after her grandmother Pearl, she is a Seattle native and former dancer who spent 12 years training and performing with the esteemed Pacific Northwest Ballet. In 1999 she moved to New York to attend Barnard College and earned a degree in Art History and Visual Arts. Upon graduating with honors, Amanda joined Marc Jacobs where she spent the following four years in the technical design and production departments honing her understanding of materials, construction and the process of putting a line into global production. In 2007, she was hired as Collection Director at Erin Fetherston, where she aided the designer in launching her business and collection development in New York.
