Dominican-born designer Oscar de la Renta has a fashion career that spans over four decades. His apprenticeship with Cristobol Balenciaga catapulted his career in fashion where he went on to design for Lanvin and Elizabeth Arden. He created his signature namesake ready-to-wear in 1964 and developed his (now legendary) reputation for luxurious ruffles, embroidery and eveningwear with ornate beading.
