<< Balenciaga do not allow their bags to be sold online! >>
I know folks highly placed in retail who have discussed this subject with me before. B. may not allow their authorized retailers to sell online, but they cannot control what "gray marketers" do. For instance, Target occasionally sells salon hair products obtained from a liquidator, products that Target is not an authorized distributor of, but once those products make their way to the gray market (what do you think all those Power Sellers of NWT name brand merchandise are), it's out of the company's hands. They will always INSINUATE the products are fake because it hurts their cachet to have their products sold at places like Target (or Bluefly or any place that they haven't specifically contracted with), but it doesn't mean the products ARE fake. I've heard these rumors fly about with Bluefly and Sam's and Costco ...my guess is that someone returned a fake bag as a real one and the clerk put it back in the case. I do not believe for a minute that these retailers would knowingly sell fake goods. Plus, their returns policy is excellent. Bluefly takes back anything. About that ripoffreport, that site is a defamation suit waiting to happen. I believe very little of what I read there, it's mostly stupid, disgruntled people who are probably swindlers themselves. |

I recently purchased a part time at Bluefly, well sort of. I put the item in my shopping cart, but was hesistant to go ahead with the purchase. I called customer service to find out if they were an authorized dealer. The lady told me yes. She also told me there weren't any part time bags available, but there was one on hold (that happened to be the one in my cart).
There were only 2 of the bags, plus it was still almost $1400.00 after tax, so I figured it had to be real, and I'd go forward with the sale because I had 90 days to decide. I called Balenciaga the next day, and they informed me Bluefly is NOT an authorized dealer, and then I read all the horror stories on the web. I called Bluefly to try and cancel the order. Normally they couldn't do such a thing, but my saving grace was I requested the purse be sent to an address other than my billing address, which held up the order. I'd much rather spend a little more money and know for sure that I have an authentic bag. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. |

that's the thing you have to know where to look for the serial numbers and always make sure you have a return policy and print it out. fake bags are the easiest to buy from vendors you have to be real careful

Yikes! This is news to me. But, I heard a long time ago Bluefly sold fake Fendi and Prada. But that was a few years ago. Balenciaga is available online at StyleDrops, Raefella and BrandsBoutique. Most of the stores I shop at sell Balenciaga BUT they are pre season styles and not the ordinary same style/several colors on one page type sites. They are discount sites that acquire older stock to resell online. I bought a Prada bag at Yoox once and it was fake! It was a small pouch with a drawstring closure. I won't buy much at Yoox anymore because of that problem.
