My Worst Designer Purchase
A girlfriend was telling me about how she hated that she got sucked into the MANOLO BLAHNIK TIMBERLAND phad. She paid about seven hundred dollars for those shoes when she saw them in Beyonce/J. Lo videos and less than six months later they were everywhere, made by every single designer so the shoes loss their edge.
![]() Another friend told me about a Dior bag that she was dying to get. She paid about nine hundred dollars for her purse. Cute bag but it has '01 stamped on it so its pretty obvious when it came out. She hates that and considers it one of her worst designer purchases ever. Okay so my turn. Well, you already know about the $700 jeans that I got, but what I didnt tell you is that it has the year. It says "Roberto Cavalli Limited Edition 2009" or whatever year...I feel like this is a horrible purchase. First, I already didnt want to pay that much for the jeans. Second, what am I going to do in two years when I am wearing the jeans and the year is stamped on my but? I am not sure if this is a bad purchase or if having the "limited edition" makes it better. But right now I am sulking with the rest of my friends thinking that maybe its bad when you get something that is marked by a date/year or a huge trend that falls as quickly as it rises. So what was your worst designer purchase? Last edited by lisahmoore; March 28th, 2008 at 11:25 AM. |

Don't feel bad about the jeans. I saw a special on one of the financial cable networks, and it was about levis. People are paying thousands of dollars for old levi jeans. If you can't return them, then try to keep them in excellent condition so that one day when your kids are in college, hopefully you can sell tehm to recoup your money...
I'd return the jeans if I were you. Worst designer purchase: I haven't made one yet, but I am too new to the game. But when I was in college, Steve Madden made those boots and I sold them at dillards for $119. |

Oh no, there is no returning these jeans!!! First, I got them a long time ago. Second, they were altered to fit my five foot two inch frame. You cant alter jeans and then return them...shoot! BUT, they are really cute...I would not have considered buying them for $200 bucks if not so I will keep them. Maybe they will be worth something one day...if not o well...(sigh).
Yeah I remember those boots were everywhere! I remember Anne Klein made them, Bakers and probably Pay Less! |

I like those jeans lisahmoore.. those are mass cute!
![]() I have too many bad designer purchases to list.. it would be endless. The items that currently come to mind that I've purchased within the last 5 months that I've never worn: hmm, pink armani collezioni blazer, jean paul gaultier silk purple blouse (I can't wear even wear because it wrinkles to easily! Also I don't know if I like the sleeves anymore -- look like this), a couple DG blouses that once I got them home and tried them on with other stuff, they just didnt work, and of course I waited to long with the thought of, "hey maybe someday" and threw the tags + receipt away.. all my chanel jewelry (I just can't wear bold logos anymore. I've tried, but I just can't)... uhg and bunch of other random non-big designer clothes. Lately though, I've been thinking about this alot. Clothes I buy and never wear.. like I get sick of things too fast. Which is also why I've been doing alot of shopping @ urban outfitters + forever21. lol ![]()

My wost desgner purchase was a Louis Vuitton Multicolore bookmark in white.
I paid 150 EUR (about 200 $) for it, because it´s rar and hard to find! And 2 month later, every seller at ebay sells it for 60-80 EUR! It was a VIP gift from Louis vuitton a few years ago.

I wish my camera wasnt broke or I would show you all the beautiful stamp on the but. The Roberto Cavalli name is all diamond encrusted (looking) and sparkely but if you look real close its that darn 2006...I am glad to hear that I am not the only fashion girl who paid too much for a fashion mistake. I feel better now :)

I mean, if you're looking for someone to give all that lovely stuff to Jen, I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands
![]() Lisah I actually don't think those jeans look bad at all! They're totally cute! My worst designer purchase might have to be my Burberry Dr. Scholl's. I never wear them. They're cute bc they're pink and Burberry, but they're loud when I walk in them, and they don't go with any jeans.
