Default Boo for SwapStyle.com

I'm losing my mind. I thought SwapStyle.com was going to be a great way to get rid of my stuff (most of it being designer). Well I got on there, posted my stuff and while I'd rather sell them all (at ridiculously low prices), I was willing to trade for some nice stuff.

Well I've been getting ALL kinds of emails from people who want to swap with me...okay fine. But then I get emails like this...

"I have a bloomingdales bag but its worth a lot more than the umbrella. and i think the only other thing i liked that the lv bag"

so I look at her list and I find this (mind you, it's the ONLY "designer" thing she has aside from used Aeropostale crap):
Juicy is it authentic?

Well then...I write back:
"Well the Burberry umbrella was $225 retail and the LV Epi Leather Pouchette was $400. You are only offering me a fake Juicy Couture bag and I don't swap/buy fakes at all. Sorry!"

Let me remind you...this may be the 100th email I've received where these girls are asking me to swap EXPENSIVE ITEMS for used Abercrombie teeshirts, a hair brush, an old magazine, etc...

Plus as Alicia mentioned previously - finding an authentic item on that website is impossible!!!!!! These women/girls don't have any CLUE as to what is authentic or not!! Ugh, really upsets me.

Sorry but I had to vent.

btw I'm thinking a lot of the "women" on that website are actually 14-15 yr old girls. which is fine but really girls...don't offend me by offering me a "Holiday Barbie" for my LV.

Well apparently no one has been moderating the site. When I originally posted there, I posted in the Clothes forum, the Accessories forum and the Designer forum because well... I had on my swap list things from all those categories. So I was like "Oh ya and mods...feel free to delete this if I'm posting in the wrong spot" and some little bitchy girl was like "Well there are no "mods" here but you're spamming and you will be reported...blah blah blah" and so i was like "uhm...well I'm pretty sure selling and swapping FAKES is against the LAW and not just against a website's rules so then I guess you're all in trouble huh?"

ugh...ya know it would be GREAT for a website like SwapStyle but really have it heavily moderated...ya know? I wouldn't mind trading people for designer stuff - although I guess you have to be careful with swaplifters. I dunno...I feel safer sending my money through PayPal to receive an item than to send a $400 bag and hope I get my trade in return though.

haha ya well look at that girl's swap list boysrsmelly...she actually has a Holiday Barbie on it as well as 32 Kellogg's Breakfast Bars...

yes ya know... screw it. I'm swapping my LV for 32 satisfying breakfast bar mornings!!! i mean really - think of it this way - my LV provides no nutritional value while a Kellogg's bar would provide a pretty good amount!

I think what happened with that site is so many of the girls are swapping/selling their "replica" handbags that they are completely oblivious to the actual VALUE of an authentic item or why it's even important that it's authentic or not.

I saw some girl on her wishlist say "Chanel bags - authentic or replica"... well sweetheart you have about a few thousand dollars difference between those two requests. Maybe I'm crazy but you either want one or the other. I don't know of anyone who want an authentic LV bag AND a fake one - if you buy an authentic LV bag it's because you take great pride in it and understand why you're buying it for that price. If you buy a fake one - you only care that it says LV. TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!
