Zachariah Bryant Runway Show hosted by Samantha Mollen

Rising star L.A. Designer unveils fall 08 collection at EM & Co boutique in West Hollywood on March 12th, 2008.

With his 2nd collection, Zachariah Bryant brings a bi-coastal twist to urban chic. The runway show, featuring 20 looks from Bryant’s fall 08 collection, is heavily inspired by Bryant’s life in the two urban style meccas that have shaped his experience: New York and Los Angeles. Over 350 guests are expected to attend this red carpet event, including press, stylists, and a rapidly growing celebrity fan base who appreciate his casual sophisticated designs. The event will be hosted by singer/songwriter Samantha Mollen and sponsored by LA Direct, Metromix, Excess Living Entertainment Group, LJAM PR, and [H]LAB. All of who are huge supporters to Bryant’s vision. Guests will sample a full bar featuring champagne and cocktails, appetizers, while listening to tunes from Samantha Mollen’s EP and fresh mixes from DJ Jasepi.

The humorous names of the two deliveries in the fall 08 collection reflect his bi-coastal focus: “Lower East Side Love” and “Manic Malibu”. The designs’ style names are inspired by distinguishing elements of each city: Bungalow 8 Blouse, Tommy Hott pants (named after a favorite NY DJ), Malibu Mansion Mini, Rooftop Party Pants.

Bryant’s use of ikat fabric hearkens to his years in Australia, where he fell in love with the fabric’s traditional, organic roots and ‘modern’ prints. His designs show a masterful blending of casual with formal, combining lustrous silks with jerseys and thermals, featuring tailored pieces and well as a few variations on his signature ‘hippie vest’.

Known for his chic, bohemian, modern daywear, fashion designer Zachariah Bryant started designing in his teens. By age 17, his one-of-a-kind vintage reconstructions were featured in Maxim, Stuff & even Carmen Electra’s "World Calendar". He premiered his collection, ZACHARIAH BRYANT, in 2007, where Fred Segal, Nordstrom, and other retailers immediately snapped it up. His designs, fusing the comfortable elegance of his native L.A. with New York's modern sophistication, have caught the attention of the media. As Instyle says, “Zachariah Bryant's casual wear is practically made for the boho celebrities of the world. "Bravo critiques one of Bryant’s pieces, “Stand out in the midst of downtown's hustle and bustle with this Zachariah Bryant Downtown Hoodie…is a true original."

“I love modern, yet organic looks,” Bryant has stated. “There is such an emphasis on creating modern fashion, but it is also important to construct comfortable and organic clothing.” Bryant is solidly anchored in the newly emerging middle territory between traditional, formal sophistication and casual, street-wise hip sensibility: urban chic, casual luxury. EM&Co owner, Eveline Morel, loves Bryant’s versatile designs and feels that in this economic climate, clothing that can be worn multiple ways, daytime and night-time, brings added value to the consumer. “Zachariah’s designs embody the lifestyle of the fast-moving urban woman -- she needs to move from daytime to evening activities with minimal effort.”
