I like the quality of their clothes and some of the styles and fabrics, but the actual fits are horrible. They are made for ladies who have absolutely no curves at all. God help you if you get bigger than a 12 - i think thats their top size.
i agree completely. their pants are DISSGUSTTINNGGG on my body, no flattering shapes at all. they have pretty good sweaters and coats.. i LOVED their "magic wallet".. SO INCREDIBLY HANDY and everyone was always fascinated by it!

the only clothing I have are a few t-shirts. They are awesome! I found a new few that i want, but i have too much stuff to buy for school to go clothes shopping
I like some of the things from there. Like during the S/S they have really cute printed flip flops and other sandals. Many of the tops and dresses are very nice too! And I also would never purchase pants/shorts from there...
im addicted to their dresses - their summer dresses this past season were AWESOME. i have an ADORABLE navy with white polka dots strapless, a deep v-neck tieback black dress, another beautiful strapless tropical print on it... and their sizing doesn't change - the 2 fits PERFECTLY. so i basically find a dress i like in the store, stalk it online (since their stuff online is ALWAYS on or going-on sale) and then buy it in the size i know that fits me!!
it's an addiction... but only to their dresses and flats. everything else is sub-par
I should just say ditto to susieq's post. I buy a lot of dresses from JCrew too. I have a couple pairs of pants and skirts... they aren't the best fit, but not the worst either. But I can always count on a size 2 from JCrew in dresses. I have tremendous luck with dresses from Anthropologie too.

Amen to Anthropologie, that is my FAVORITE store, I always buy little knick knacks and have only bought a little bit of clothing, but I got the most adorable tracy reese dress there last summer and i LOVE it, its gorgeous, i actually had it shipped in from california, then decided i needed the money and returned it, i was totall bummed that i did and i went back to buy some new cups and they still had my dress so i re-bought it, I might wear it for valentines day even though its a bit summery. I also got some great sweaters and shirts, and they always have great stuff that I can never pass up!
I also love that J. Crew gives you a student discount (10%) and even an educators discount (15%) off any order in stores. I found that last point from a great blog that has some shopping tips for the Crew. J.Crew Aficionada
i agree with what people are saying about the dresses. i've had pretty good luck with those... and while it is a bit preppy for my tastes too the dresses are simple enough to add all kinds of acccessories to
