Thread: Amazon selling fake designer bags

Anyone else finding it kinda crazy that Amazon.com is still selling replica designer handbags and accessories? Like Louis Vuitton and Chanel..
Is there no regulation??

It's not actually Amazon, is it? It is people that are part of their marketplace.

Isnt that what Amazon is? It's made up of third party sellers.. I was wondering about regulation and how to report a seller. It can't be that easy because there are tons of knockoffs on the website from sellers who have been there for a long time (and have really high ratings). I know in the past Cartier sued Amazon, and that's probably why you're only going to find watches sold by Cartier on the website.

No, there is Amazon and then there are third party sellers that are part of Amazon's marketplace. So I can search for a book and it will first give me Amazon's price for it brand new. Then there is a thing you can click on that says # new and # used starting at $___. You click on that and it shows 3rd party sellers.

I'm not talking about books. I'm talking about designer items. Amazon sells books, but pretty much everything that is not book related is not sold by them but rather a third party (in the market place). ie if you're looking for a vacuum there are multiple sellers that may sell the same item and you can compare price, warranty, etc.

Let me re-word the title - Amazon.com has fake designer items for sale on their website. All I'm saying is that people should be aware that there are fake items on the website, which obviously should be removed.

Amazon doesn't just sell books. They sell tons of stuff. Their stuff is often mixed in with other people's stuff though when you search for something. And you're right, I think most designer stuff comes from third party sellers (either directly or fulfilled by Amazon). They should be more aware of what is being sold on their website. Just like everywhere else though, you have to be careful.
