Default US Courts Shutting Down Replica Sites

Making progress people! Not all sites have been shut down, but many of them no longer are in operation. And, if you go to any site, there will be a copy of the court records stating what happened. Most of them are CHANEL and LVM v. (defendant).

    Here are a few examples:
Highreplica: Designer Chanel, LV Louis Vuitton Replica Handbags, Fake Replica Shoulder Hand Bags, Wallet & Purse
The previous operators of this website were found to be selling replica goods in violation of Federal laws. A Court ordered this domain name transferred to Chanel and Louis Vuitton and awarded damages of more than $1,000,000.00 against the website operators.

    Chanel BasicReplica Handbags
A store selling replica Chanel and Louis Vuitton handbags, wallets, watches and other goods once appeared on this domain. The site owners were ordered to transfer the domain name as a result of a civil contempt order to stop the sale of replicas.

I was thinking the same thing! They REALLY need to shut down iOffer. That's the worst place of them all. The "replica" websites have high prices, and iOffer is kind of auction-y so their prices are cheaper. Although my feeling is that people would have to know about iOffer to go there, and the other sites are just there when you search for certain bags or brands.

    About time!!

I'm wondering though, how are they going to moderate this? Do you have to flag a site? And what's stopping those sites from just turning around and removing the "replica" part and saying that the items are "consigned, vintage, pre-owned, etc".

I was wondering about things like that too, kmarney. Went to LV Soho today and around the corner, a guy was selling replica bags. Seems like they're going after the online retailers more than the street sales.

Well it is easier to moderate an ecommerce site. All they have to do is identify and have google take it down.. a street guy can just pick up and move the next street or even town over. :/
But this is only step one in what will be a long process in removing knock-offs from the market completely

One step at a time! I'm glad they are finally making progress with this. Next up... street vendors, stands at the mall, and purse parties!

Finally we've started tearing down the wall that is blocking us from having only authentic handbags being sold. I agree it is easier shutting down replica handbag websites because obviously they can track the websites much better than street vendors. Chinatown is like 99.99% full of replicas so that's definitely gonna bring up some issues and be much, much harder to stop completely.

Hi, newbie, :) jump the self introduction and post directly here, is that OK?

I see that they have changed the website into other ones like jennyhandbags.com, the same outlook as before, just change the name.

I think at least they are honest to state "replica" clearly on the website , rather than those cheat on Ebay who claims theirs as the authentic yet fake.

^^^ I think you are missing the point as to why fakes are bad. It doesn't matter if they are clearly labeled as "replica". People think they are harmless, when they are not.

Please don't post websites selling replicas. If you do not realize why replicas are bad, here are the reasons:

    1. They support terrorism and child labor
    2. They don't hold up as well as authentic handbags do.
    3. You don't know who you are buying from.
    4. You may never receive the bag if bought online (scams)
There are SO many more but I hope you get the point.

P.S. Websites need to have correct spelling and grammar.
