Hi Ladies,

Next month my sister and I are taking a 3 day trip into New York City. It is sisters time out...no kids, no husbands...

This is the first time in years we have planned something like this. Our whole point in picking NY was to go shopping

and have the time of our lives. have booked flights and nice place to stay near Madison Square Garden, problem is we have no idea where the good deals in Manhattan are.

I am looking for ideas on where to shop for good bargains for clothes, handbags and accessories. Looking for deeply discounted designer stuff

I am hoping you can give me some suggestions if you live there or have been there shopping.

You should definitely check out Loehmanns (I think there are 2 or 3 of them in Manhattan and Queens now, and the original one is in Brooklyn), which has a great selection of designer handbags and clothes. Right now they're having a sale so anything with a yellow sale tag is an extra 25% off (hopefully the sale will still be going by then)! You should also check out Century 21 near ground zero, but keep in mind that it's the kind of place where you have to dig through the racks, and it gets REALLY crowded at times. Of course, you should swing by the original Bloomie's, Saks Fifth Ave, and Macys - not necessarily discounts, but still fun must-sees for us hardcore shoppers

Have a good time, and remember not to buy any handbags off the street haha!

By the way, clothes and shoes under $100 are tax free in the 5 boroughs. I think handbags are excluded though...

you have to go to 21 century, it is directly across the street from ground zero. i bought a prada shopper for 299! they have crazy deals... the designer clothing racks are amazing!!
