Default At home "spa" pedicures!! help please.

    Hi girls!
I need some help with at home pedicures. Iam really scared to go to a salon and have it done. I want to do it at home.. What are the best options? I know Bliss makes a really good foot line. Can you help me? I want to use THE BEST foot stuff , I want to look like I went and had them done. Any advice is good! Thanks!!

because of all the infections people get and all the horror stories. I also don't like to put my feet in a bowl that other people have just put their feet in. So gross!

if you put some warm/hot water in a large enough bowl with a couple of drops of baby oil and let your feet soak for as long as you want/can your feet will be super soft and smell nice....ooo yea public pools, public water fountains, and especially public bathrooms ewwwww

Bliss products are good and so are OPI. I can understand why you wouldn't want to go to a salon, but there are some salons/spas that are very clean. I have nothing against Chinese nail salons for acrylics, but I personally would never get a pedicure done there.

I know that sounds gross. I do it at home mostly but I do go to a salon once in a while because I Looooooove the foot/leg massage while you are sitting on a chair that is massaging your back as well.

Anyway, this salon I go to is very clean. I see them clean and sanitize the bowls after each use, also their tools are sterilized in a machine thingy they have. So every time they are with a client, they pull a little plactic sealed package with clean tools . You should totally look around and find a nice place for you to go because it is scary, oh and the pools ewww.

This is what I do at home:

    1. Remove any nail polish with a non acetone base nail polish remover.
    2. Soak my feet in warm water with an oil mix I have for about 10-15 min. I know is a long time and the water always gets cold haha but I usually do my eyebrows while soaking hehe.
    3. File toe nails
    3. Push cuticles back.
    4. Cut dead skin around my toenail.
    4. With my pumice stone I scrape my heels and toes, bottom of my feet etc, to get rid off any dead skin.
    5. Rinse the foot you are working on.
    6. Massage the foot and toes with vaseline, yes vaseline. I use the lavender one.
    7. Clean the nail with a cotton ball soaked in a mix of water and alcohol to remove the Vaseline/oils from the toe nail.
    8. Add a coat of clear nail strengthener polish to protect the nails from staining. (I used OPI)
    9. Add coat of your favorite nail polish or leave them as it is.

I let my nails rest between polishes, otherwise they turn yellow Ewwwww. I usually let them "rest" for at least a week. This keep them looking natural and pink if you KWIM.

You can buy a kit from basically any store, I got mine from bath body & Works. I bet you can find all you need at home too/

Also, I try to do this every night but sometimes I forget. I rub my feet with vaseline, the baby kind (they have a lavender one :gi67:) and put on some thick cotton socks before I go to bed. Keeps my feet super soft and hubby happy. He hates crusty feet

I hate public bathrooms, I will hold it until I get home or I find a nice and clean bathroom and even then I put like 3 seat covers.
