Iam confused about when to wear black and brown together. It is a fashion no-no but when don't properly it can match. For example if you have a very very light brown, almost camel and a dark dark black it will match. Can you girls help me?
I have the new coach sabrina bag in khaki and the straps are dark shiney brown. I wear this bag every single day and I want to make sure it matches. please help! thanks! I want to do this the right way.
also this is the black sweater Iam going to buy.. I have it in camel too. It also has gold zipper accents that are not visible here. (same goldtone as the bag)
I think you shouldn't worry about it. Black is a neutral so is brown. They both go together. I mean take those english riding field boots. They are black and brown. I think when you get too matchy matchy things get weird. Like Red shoes and red bag.
I think your coach bag will go with your black sweater, and I also think it would go with either black or brown shoes.
I really think it depends on your overall look. Like Jessie said, if it looks good I don't think you have to be "too" matchy matchy. My rules for black and brown really have to do with that, an overall look. Like, to me, a "brown-tone" day means I'm wearing softer colors, maybe more secondary "off" colors. On those days a bit of black accent here or there (like your bag) would still work fine. Whereas a "black-tone" day means I'm going for a very hard, businesslike look. I tend to accent my black with primary colors. On those days, a bit of brown here and there works fine. It really depends what it is.
I don't know exactly why I do it that way but that's what works for me.

Re: Black and brown a fashion no no
Your Coach bag will look 'hot' with the black sweater! Just rock it with confidence!!
Many people used to say "you can't wear black and brown together." That was also a long time ago when everything was matchy matchy. Now it's all about mixing and matching. Think about any Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas. Most of the bag is dark brown but people wear it with anything and everything including BLACK and it looks great!
Now I'm not saying that every single brown bag will look nice with black clothes. It depends on the bag...but the Coach you have will definitely look nice with black or brown.

I really like the contrast of your Coach with the black sweater, more than with the brown. I like the way the bag pops, or contrasts, with the black.
I think it looks super.
The great thing about fashion these days, is that you have so many options.
You can mix patterns and colors.
Just look at yourself objectively and if you like what you see, you're good to go.
yeah sometime browns and blacks can look terriable together. but when you put light browns with black you can get away with it. i wear a black sweat with dark brown boots. just depends on the color and how much of each color you have. :]
I see a ton of people mixing black and brown these days. I see alot of black skinny pants with bwon boots. I like the look. I think you can wear it with both sweaters.
I usually never wear black and brown together but that's only my opinion. Maybe in certain situations they would like fine together.
