Guys just don't seem to get it?
No matter how long they've been with you, they still don't get it
Although, to be fair, I think some have a better idea of good potential gifts than others (sort of a rare phenomenon).

Re: Valentine's Day Gift Ideas
This year I requested a single rose and no candy/chocolates because it's sad when flowers die after a short time and some don't dry well (look pale and icky). I have a tough time finishing a box of chocolates. I do love cards though. I'm always happy to get cards.

This is why carnations are good. They are cheap and they live FOREVER inside a vase. They aren't my most favorite of flowers though. I really do love my roses. I just wish they wouldn't wilt so quickly.

Re: Valentine's Day Gift Ideas
My DH asked me how much he could spend on Valentine's day. I was thinking, wow, he's really with it here! And then I realized he was looking for gifts for "us." If you know what I mean.
Ah, well.

Hi BRS, I agree that carnations can last fairly long. I love the two-toned ones/hybrids. I bought some to brighten up my office once and they sure looked great in a tall Peruvian vase . Roses are my favorite too. Especially Fire & Ice, Esperanza, Malibu... Lagerfelds are really beautifully scented and a gorgeous purple .

Re: Valentine's Day Gift Ideas
This is my contribution to this thread... Chocolates... I haven't tried MarieBelle yet but Vosges is really exotic and yummy. They have a very special truffle I think called ?Ganache that's available only in August =(. I like that one the best too.

Hi, thanks for recommending, I will have to try them. Another good one is Bloomie's Martines. Martine's Chocolates Home Page.

We have a couple of Mister Lincolns behind our house. OMG! I couldn't believe how big the roses were the first time I saw them bloom.
