New York – Just before the holidays, Amanda Brotman, designer of handbag collection Amanda Pearl, will host a multiple day trunk show to preview and pre-order the spring 2009 collection.

Armed with a collection of vintage fabrics and beads gathered from her travels around the world, Amanda Pearl Brotman began constructing luxury evening bags out of her Greenwich Village apartment. The elegant, yet refreshingly quirky designs quickly turned into a collection inspired by antique jewelry, textiles, modern art, vintage travel posters and fashion and culture of the Fifties and Sixties.

The Spring 2009 Collection draws inspiration from a variety of elements that came together - gardens of a Lake Como villa, the golden light of the late afternoon sun as it descends into the evening, the electric night sky colors that emerge with sunset, and the trippy vibrancy of Dale Chihuly’s glass forms.
