Default Dolce Vita vs Bebe - Chain Booties

    Dolce Vita vs Bebe

I was looking for "booties" on Shop Style and came across these. I saw the Bebe ones first and thought "oh those are cute," and then scrolled to the next page where I saw the Dolce Vita ones. I was confused, so I opened both links and saw that they were the exact same. I sat here for a few minutes looking back and forth at the pictures and noticed that they looked exactly the same. But then I thought, "wait, doesn't Bebe only sell Bebe brand items?"

Then I scrolled down on their page and saw this review/comment:
    Code:
stunning boots an exact replica of dv
They're even almost the same price! I wonder how good of quality they are in regards to each other? They literally look exactly the same.

I'm all for "inspiration" from other designers, but an EXACT copy? Just because something doesn't have the name of the other on it, isn't it still sort of a replica?

    That is pretty Low.

This is not an "inspiration", it is copying, plain and simple. If a store like bebe is stooping so low, what will stop the cheap imitations?

I really want those Dolce Vitas! One of my friends has a pair and they are stunning.

About the similarity, there's really no question about it. From my view, I would consider this a mirror replica rather than an inspired-by copy. It's identical, down to each strand and chain. Even the order of the gold and silver chain detail. Just identical. I would consider it to be inspired-by, if the chains were all different, kwim?

And about BeBe. What the heck happened to that brand? Last time I walked past that store, they had a Rebecca Minkoff Knock-off Morning After sitting in their display window.

^^ The last time I passed by their window, they had that Balenciaga Giant Hardware Replica!

Bebe totally copied those Boots from top to bottom! Shame on Bebe!

I'm glad I'm not the only one a little "peeved" about this. I mean, if you can't come up with your own designs, how can you stay in business?

Jen - I definitely want these!

The gunmetal chain ones are stunning! If I was hunting for these shoes, I would go with that pair

Well I'm sure there is more to the story than "they ripped it off". Is there any possibility that the designer for one boot perhaps sold it to the other? Bebe isn't exactly a fly by night company and I'm sure their designers, creative consultants, etc take inspiration from other designers or work on multiple things for multiple lines.
