    Default Ugg Issues?

Does anyone else have a problem with stinky Uggs?

I've had mine since about Thanksgiving and have been noticing "odors". They're not awful, awful, but they do smell. I know you're not supposed to wear socks with them, so for about the first month I didn't, now, I'm afraid I have too. I've never had an issue with any other shoe getting stinky, except maybe cheapies or flip-flops in the summer. I've read conflicting reviews; some wear socks and swear by it and others swear theirs don't stink and socks will make them stink. It's just annoying for the most part, I love them to pieces, but jeez.

Have any of you encountered this problem? Thoughts?

I got a pair for Christmas and I love them. I've been wearing mine almost every day that I have to go out and I haven't noticed any smell. Wearing socks might have something to do with it being that they are very warm. I also didn't know that you weren't suppose to socks with them either. Maybe you should go back to the store where you purchased them and ask them about this. Maybe they could recommend a spray that you could buy or something like that. Sorry that I wasn't much help.

Done...I think...Until I find something that catches my eye

Ugg are supposed to be worn without socks, as per the manufacturer. I think it's to reap the "full benefits" or some other crap. Probably because they know if you don't wear socks your Uggs will start to stink and you'll buy another pair. But that's also me just being cynical.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but my feet don't necessarily stay any warmer in Uggs. I actually like wearing a thin sock with mine. They stay colder without socks and they sweat, but with socks they are nice, cozy and warm- and not sweaty. It's so weird.

However, I do love my Uggs and I plan on buying another pair next month. I seriously hate wearing anything but Uggs. I'm getting spoiled.

I have their deodorizing spray, but it only kills the smell, not the problem. I suppose I'll just wear socks from now on unless it's just to slip them on and run to the store.

More or less I was curious how many people had/have this problem. Thanks for the input!

I don't have the stinky feet issue, but it's only because I'm a freeze baby and my feet are always freezing, but my son on the other hand... drip city. And stinky with a capital S.
I actually wash his in the washing machine on hand wash cycle. I put in a dollop of Liquid Tide and a cup of vinegar.
Then I stuff them with washcloths and throw them in the dryer on gentle. They don't dry all the way and then I take them out and the air dry the rest of the way.
    So far, so good.

I haven't had any smelly problems with my Uggs. Then again I NEVER wear socks with them as I think that would cause your feet to sweat and mess with the natural "moisture wicking" process.

It's the exact opposite for me. It's so weird. Evidently I'm not part of the normal Ugg wearing population. Freakin' sucks. I want to wear mine without socks.

Oh and DF loves to throw it in my face that my "precious Uggs" aren't so freakin' fantastic now that they make my feet stink. [He's anti-Uggs]

Are you wearing them in temperatures above 70 degrees? (Indoor and outdoor)

Why would you wear something made of wool in temps over 70? Just curious. Just doesn't sound very... smart...fashionable maybe smart...not exactly.

Good Lord no! I wish it was above 70 degrees, it's about 30's-40's on average most days. Sometimes 50's. BUT I'm also not outside, I'm inside most of the time (aside from short trips from my truck to the inside of the store, ect.). So my feet are usually cold because I'm not doing much. Maybe I have poor circulation or something, IDK.

Not so sure of what you mean but I asked because some people do, and that would REALLY cause your feet to sweat.

^^ They look cool, but what I mean is you can't wear those big wooly things in high temps and not expect your feet to sweat/stink.

Could you put baby powder in them or put baby powder on your feet to help?

    I suppose you could.

The Ugg website swears that the shearing will keep your feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer (up to 80 degrees outside). So they're def. not supposed to make your feet sweat.
