Can someone educate me on what makes this "super premium leather"?

Well, I dont know if Im answering you question right but I will give it a stab. I don't think the Wine leather is necessarily better or more "premium" than other RM leathers but I do think that it has different characteristics, and as such, are described differently. The Wine leather, IMO, is thick, supple, and uh...fingerable...! I've owned a Matinee, Nikki, and a MAM in the Wine colors and they all for the most part had these same characteristics. Now, on the other hand, I also have a Dark Gray MAM, for example, that has completely different leather (not necessarily lower quality though) that is more smooth and stiff. I think that most RM aficionados prefer the thick, supple leathers that are soft and malleable and since the Wine colors have those qualities, it results in their high level of popularity.

Dang it. I feel like I am not answering your question. LOL. I hope I made some sense in attempting to answer it. =)

Gungy, this is really helpful, thank you! Some people are all about the color, but I am all about the color + leather. Now that I have a MAM I want a MAB, but I guess the wine is only available in MAB?

balihai88, on TPF there is a special order going for a Wine MAB. it's only available currently in the MAM size. the special order needs 4 or 5 more gals. i might be bailing out.
