I really like the new HW. It is gold but a light shade of gold, not brassy, KWIM?
For me I think the new HW looks a bit more classy/dressy. The old HW with the tassels is funky and fun, more of a casual bag, IMO. I like my MAB just fine without the tassels, I already have a few bags with them.

*Edit* I do think they should be included so you can add them if you want!

i just learned about the fact that the new HW is actually engraved. that makes me feel better. at first i just thought it was "new" hardware and that was that. so i can live w/o the tassels for now. but yes, gizmo, ITA it's good to have a choice!

Yes, I would love to have the option of adding or removing tassels to my bag. You know when you want to be more casual you could add them and when you wanted a more dressy look you could just remove them.

Thanks Gizmo! I love it too, but for some reason I have only carried it like 3 times.

Have you guys seen the Q&A RM did at LB? Her new bags will have a mix of old hardware and new hardware. Tassels will be back!!!!

Thats a fascinating idea.

I dont know if it would be feasible though. Looking at the new style hardware on my MAMs, I dont know how easy (or even practical) it would be to create a pull tab that disconnects to accommodate tassels, kwim? The zipper pull itself replaces the circular pull that used to be on the bags where you could loop/unloop the tassels. Hmmm..lost in thought here...I guess all in all it is an excellent idea, I dont know if it would work out that well though.
