    Question Problem with Rm MAM's.

    Hi everyone,

I am still in my quest to get a midnight blue or other striking color MAM. I had decided to get a MAM instead of a Coach Madison Sabrina. However,

I saw a posting on ebay with the following text in the listing:

"Minkoff Lovers are well aware of feet flaws in these bags. They start to spin and eventually disengage and fall off. RM will repair these feet for a 35.00 fee. I tested this bag and 3 out of 4 feet are spinning but still attached but will eventually fall off with use. I do not want to spend the time or money in sending the bag in for repair.
The Deep Red bags also develop a sort of Patina to them. A lot of RM lovers like the darkened flecks that appear throughout the leather and like the Vintage feel it gives the bag. This bag is heavily flecked. I will admit that the bag looks great and it doesn't take away from it's beauty but I like more Polished bags."

Is this true? I am concerned about the feet falling off. I know recently one member had posted that their MAM feet had fallen off and had been repaired. While i am fine with buying a new bag and having it stain-proofed and treated at the outset, i do not like spending money on repairing and fixing bags later. I would like to avoid the aggravation. Also, i would forever be stressed thinking the feet are going to fall off somewhere without my knowledge!!

    What are your experiences?

Out of my 8? RM bags, I have only had the foot fall off of one bag. I mailed the bag back and had it back in my hot little hands within 10 days. I wouldn't really worry about it. The patina thing is another issue. I would want to see a "Vintage" bag before making that call. If it still looks good, that is fine (like the straps on my LV bag).

I've never had a problem with the feet on any of my RM's, however I can totally understand the frustration those people must feel. Especially if the bag was brand new and they were charged $35! Totally ridiculous -- luckily rusararu wasn't charged when that happened to her.. she only had to pay for shipping..

Here is the deal... RM does not charge for repair if the bag is new and less than a year old (and not from ebay). You can get your handles re-done or your feet fixed for free. They will email you a UPS label to send it in. If the bag is older, then the fee applies. Of course this policy may be revised at any time, but this is what it has been for awhile. They will help you out.
The feet falling off was/is mainly an issue on the signature hardware. The new mixed hardware with round feet isn't as prone to this problem. I can't even recall any of the round feet being reported as loose or missing.

I bought the new lavendar Nikki bag and the foot came off. I had to ship it back at my expense but didn't have to pay for repairs. Considering that I had had the bag for less than 2 weeks I was less than pleased. Happy they fixed it, but ticked I had to pay for shipping back. And I was at no time offered a UPS label or reimbursement for shipping.

I've always gotten a UPS label for shipping; the last time I sent a bag in was 2 months ago. It probably depends on who you talk to.

I have heard of other people having the feet falling off issue... But not myself... I have had no issues at all with my bags... All of the newer bags now have circular nubs instead of the flat stamped feet... Which I believe fixes that problem all together.... Rebecca saw there was problems with the way it was and fixed it.. That is why I am a big fan of hers, she is always trying to do better..And makes things right if something happens to go wrong...

I havent encountered any problems with my RM bags and then.... FEET STARTED FALLING OFF ALL OVER THE PLACE! Luckily, RM has great CS and has repaired all of them super quick.
