Default I want to sell my first RM bag online...any advice?

Hi everyone! I just bought my 1st RM (a Jammin' Purple Mini Nikki) on Gilt last week, & even though I was super psyched about getting it in the mail (I was even planning on doing my 1st reveal), it sadly it isn't a keeper I don't know what possessed me to get it (maybe the stellar color, maybe the great price, or maybe even the sheer adrenaline rush of snatching it up before someone else), but long story short, it's too small for me & I should of known better Anyway, I'm now faced with the task of selling it (it was, of course, final sale). Unfortunately, I've never sold a bag online before, & based on other threads & posts, it seems like ebay isn't a good option I know that some tBFers have mentioned eCrater or Bonanzle, but I'm not sure if many people know about these sites (I didn't until now) or buy from them. Do any of you have advice? Has anyone bought or sold on them? In case it helps, I bought the bag for $338.81 (including tax and shipping) & I'd be happy to just break even. Thanks, in advance, for any help you can give me There probably isn't anything to worry about, but I'm stressing about selling it because I want to put the money towards a regular Nikki. Thanks again!

    Hi ducky =)

    Heres my two cents:

    1. Unequivocally, I would suggest Bonanzle. Ebay...is, well... its Ebay. Nothing more to say than that. Ecrater, I find difficult to use and it drove me nuts. Bonanzle is easy to use, with a format that even a dimwit like myself could figure out! Its so completely easy and it has many cool features (ex. saving your pictures used in the past)

The best part? I sold one bag on Ebay for $449 and I was charged about $40 in fees. The same bag sold on Bonanzle, and guess how much I paid? $5. Yes, FIVE DOLLARS. Thank you. I love Bonanzle.

Now I dont know if you are going to get the full amount you want for your bag due to a couple reasons. One is that RM bags are on sale all over the place. Its not that uncommon to find RM bags in the less coveted colors going for about $250-300. On the other side of the spectrum, you have other bags that are hard to find that are going for $600+. I think that with the Jammin Purple you are kind of somewhere in the middle of that spectrum, and you will get most, if not all of your money back but I would be prepared to maybe lose a little bit. In any event, you can rest assured knowing that Bonanzle is not going to gouge a hole in your pocket.

    HTH!

Thanks so much for your help gungy I figured that it might be a bit hard to get all my money back because I haven't sold a bag before and there seem to be a few of them like mine up for sale at the moment Do you think it might be better to put off selling it a bit until the other ones go, or do you think it will make mine worth less because by that time it will be older? You said that some of it depends on the popularity of the color, but I don't know if these bags tend to become more or less valuable as time goes by. Thanks again!

PS-- How have you & your Nikki been getting along? I know you were having some problems w/ its large openness...have you carried it yet?

^This is just my opinion but I would sell it now. RM has a sample sale coming up and theres going to be a flurry of women buying bags at very low cost. I think its better to try to sell it before that happens.

    Hello Itsjustducky!
From the fee standpoint, hands down, I would go with Bonanzle. Plus, you can enable buyers to give you their best offer, so the price isn't set in stone with what you list. However, I must say I have not had a sale on there yet. However, I've always been successful on eBay. It reaches more people due to its popularity. Also, with a BIN price, buyers can get a certain % off with the live.com promotion. You could try both sites, which I have done!
I agree with Gung on ecrater...for some reason, my items wouldn't show up in a regular search...it was a mess and I gave up on that!
    Good luck!

I would use Bonanzle or ecrater for the cheaper fees. Ebay might sell quicker, but you will pay more in fees.
Ecrater takes some getting used to, but once you know where to look it's easy enough to use. (btw search results take 24 hours to show)
