Default Cranberry vs. Wine vs. Ruby

Hi All! I'm pretty much a newbie here...branching out from tpf (not that I was much of a participant as it is). Anyway, I was looking at the new cranberry colored RMs which are so so pretty. I already have a wine bag, so I was thinking maybe it wouldn't be worth it to buy something so similar. Then I saw some ruby bags, which I believe is an older color. In any event, has anyone seen the cranberry in person? Is it more like the ruby or the wine? Is it different enough looking, in your opinion, that the colors would be obviously two different ones? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hey lady! You are SOOO in luck! I have a Cranberry MAM and a Wine MAM coming to me this week. The Cranberry will be here tomorrow. I was already going to do side by side comparison pics but I'm glad there is someone out there who is itching to see the comparison too! I have owned the Ruby too and did not particularly like it. The color reminded me of a dull red but the leather was very nice. I should have pics of the Cranberry up tomorrow. Oh and FYI: I think the Wine and Cranberry are different enough in color and texture to justify buying both! Im not positive yet but I suspect I may be right!

Going back to your question, I can answer some of it right now actually. The Cranberry is much more like the Wine rather than the Ruby. Ruby was soft, slightly pebbled, and almost "spongy" in consistency while also being very matte. The Wine and Cranberry both have a hint of sheen/polish to them and are both very vibrant. I do believe the leather texture between the two is significantly different but I will know for sure soon and let you know. =)
    I forgot to say WELCOME!:gi67:

Here you go! I hope it makes your decision a little easier =)

PS: These two bags are very different all around, including the hardware, leather texture, COLOR, and slouch factor.

Edit to add: For those who are unfamiliar with the colors, the lighter red bag is the Cranberry and the darker red bag is the Wine.

Thank you for posting, Gung! I have to say that I probably will end up buying something in cranberry. I think maybe I was hoping it wasn't much different for the sake of my wallet, though!

I'm so glad I found this thread! I was also trying to figure out what kind of red the cranberry is. I'm about to buy a RM Nikki, would like a color I can use year-round. I'm just starting my designer handbag collection so right now I want to get a range of colors, but also good basic ones.

I LOVE the grape Nikki, but I already have a Botkier Sascha in a similar shade (the Botkier burgundy falls between the RM Wine and the Grape), so I was thinking of either Cranberry or Navy Luxe. I don't usually go for dark blue/navy, but the Navy luze has that bright touch, and I think that makes it more casual and also more summery.

I have been uncertain about the Cranberry, but here it looks very nice.

Cranberry and Navy Luxe are both very pretty; just with very different leathers. Which one did you end up getting?
