Re: whats every one doing?
I just spent the last few hours going through papers on my family history.. there's so much stuff on the internet too that I never knew existed. It's addicting looking up that stuff. lol

Isn't that expensive Jennifer? I was always afraid to pay the membership fee only to find there wasn't much information.

Re: whats every one doing?
I didn't signup for anything -- you're talking about those sites like ancestor.com right? I used the power of google! lol. I actually found everything on this one site dedicated to colonial and Early American New England ancestors. I already had information leading up to my 4th Great Grandma so it was pretty easy to go from there.. just tracking back my mothers, mothers, mothers, etc side. They had a couple photos, diary clippings, certificates.. it's just really interesting. I bet I would find more if I signed up for that ancestor site!

Re: whats every one doing?
Wow, I've never found anything like that doing a Google search. All I ever found was Census information, which is just names and ages in the household at the time of the Census.

Re: whats every one doing?
No, it was free too. Just some census data and death certificates. Didn't give me a lot to go on though. No addresses or anything, just census block.

Re: whats every one doing?
This is a long one...
Worst eyelash job ever! So bad I had to cancel my plans to go to an event tonight.. yea, that bad. I called last week to get my eyelashes filled at this popular lash bar here in Seattle.. so popular that it took forever for me to get my appointment! I said that a JR stylist was fine, I mean it's a pretty nice place so I figured all their people are skilled. Anyways this is how the app went.. when I first walked in the lady before me was complaining, saying her lashes were going all over the place. (i was quietly saying in my head "please don't be my lash lady.. please don't be my lash lady..") lol. Then she called my name.. when she was trying to put the jell pads on my eyes (it's what goes inbetween your eyelids so they don't stick or something) she said "sorry I'm not very good at this".. and I was like, "you know, you probably shouldn't tell people that.. hehehehe...sooo are you new?" Yea, she started a couple days ago but loves doing beauty stuff at home. I'm just thinking this can't be happening!
Anyways, I told her specifically I wanted size 11 on the inner and size 12 on the outer.. it's what they usually do. It would just look weird if all the same length.
Fast forward an hour later... .... .. I'm done... she turns around and says to the other stylist "Oh I think I used the wrong size again." I'm like hello, I'm right here! I get up and look in the mirror and couldn't help but blurt out that they look like crap. Well something like that. I mean, I NEVER (rarely) complain. But to me, when I have to spend $60-$80 every 2 weeks for maintenance I expect a certain level of quality. What I actually said, in an annoyed tone, was "wowww, I'm sorry but they don't look right". She was like, oh I'm sorry.. I've only been doing this for a couple days.. please tell me what I did wrong so I can correct it. I was like wellllll for one I still have glue on my lashes - she tried to convince me that was old growth. She said it was my old lash extensions just growing out. I was like, no that doesn't happen. I didn't walk in here with glue on my eyes. I've never had the glue visible on my lashes, ever. Do you even know what youre talking about. Old growth would be like seeing the fake thicker lashes on the real (thinner) lashes. That went on for 15 minutes.
Trying to remain calm as possible I was like so I heard you say you used the wrong size... she snapped back and said she had no idea what I was talking about. I was just like, are you kidding me? Whatever. The inner lashes are the exact same size as the outer.. it's not natural looking.
My last point to her was how scraggly they looked. She didn't apply them straight on.. they're going all over the place.
Uhg. I was just so over it at this point. I felt like I was talking to her for 20 minutes and she just wasn't getting it. I paid, tipped only $5 (I shouldn't have even left that)
Feeling like a trainwreck I met up with my friend for coffee and without saying a word yet she was like oh no.. what happend to your lashes? Yea, she's pretty unfiltered. lol. After that I went home debating whether or not to call and see what could be done... then Dan came home and I asked him what he thought. He pretty much said the same thing - with his eyes! Dan is too nice, his words were "I've seen them look alot better. Can you go in and get it re-done"
SO.... I called them. I said something like "yea hi was just in there, and my lashes didn't quite turn out the way I hoped" then told them all of the above... they put me on hold for about 10 minutes (guessing to talk with the person how did my lashes). She came back on the line, told me how she was new, and how she put it, made it sound like she wouldnt be there for long. Lots of complaints. And said that a SR stylist could see me tomorrow - complimentary. I kept stressing how sorry I was that I had to call and complain.. again, I never do this.
I mean I just feel bad. I see both sides of this:
I feel bad for her...She's new! Everyone starts at the bottom of something and works their way up! However, this is a well-known lash bar. I just expect more, you know? It would be completely different if it was only $20 or $30.
I attached a picture to show you guys what I'm talking about.. I'm so embarrassed to even do this

BUT enough about me! How excited FU. Can we see pictures of your display?

Re: whats every one doing?
Oh wow Jennifer. This is bad, but they sort of look like Astro Turf fibers. Is there any way to just take them off? Like Acetone or something. Sparse lashes would look better than... well, that.

Don't feel bad about complaining. I'm not one to complain either. But a bad job is a bad job. Perhaps this isn't her line of work.
