Lol no not yet. I mean, we've been talking about getting married for a few years now, but we never could afford a decent ring. I always thought I wanted some big fancy diamond, but now that I've thought about it, I really don't. So I thought why not ask for my grandmother's ring. She doesn't wear it anymore (she's 87 and doesn't wear jewelry anymore), and she said we could have it. And now that Matt got a big enough bonus from work, we can customize it. Not sure when the actual proposal will happen, but I'd like it to be soon!

Lils, that's absolutely adorable. I've always imagined a big stone for when I get engaged as well, but the truth is, I don't care for something enormous either. Your future ring, with its story and all, will have a much more sentimental meaning behind it, I love its origin already. An early congrats to you and Matt.

Thanks everyone! We got the ring from my mom today, so hopefully we can get to a jeweler soon and see how much it will cost. We thought Matt would be getting a big tax return as well, but it turns out if you live in NYC (or surrounding counties) you have to pay a NYC resident tax! It's a BIG tax! It probably depends on how much money you make, but Matt basically ended up having to use all of his tax return to pay the stupid tax. We're both so mad, no one warned us!

Well right now I'm just waiting for a friend to get here, then the three of use are going to meet another friend (and his new GF) for a drink. Even though it's 22 outside, we'll be walking about 9 blocks.

FedUp - That sucks! Hopefully you feel better now. I slipped on the ice about a month ago while walking into work. I just about did the splits! Youch! And then Mr BRS hurt his shoulder/back the other day while attempting to put on his shoe. How he managed to go that, I'll never know.

Oh no FedUp! I hope it's getting better as time goes on (even though it hasn't been that long).

I'm also having some back pain issues. My sciatica has been bothering me lately, but that's really in my hip/leg. But now my middle to lower back is really really sore feeling. No when I touch it, but just sitting here it feels so sore. I don't really want to go to the dr.

I took a bunch of anti-inflammatory pain killers. the pain is a dull throb now. I was actually navigating carefully and walking slowly too. I thought the storm sewer drain cover was clean, so i stepped on it...did not realize that there was a thin sheath of ice on it. I was sprawled in the middle of a drive aisle in pain and i was worried that someone would come around the corner of the building and run me over before they saw me, so i had to crawl for a bit

Lils, i am with you on going to the doctor. I go there often enough for my kids, so i hate going there unless it is the last resort!
