    Default Chicago

Hi, i've planed to visit Chicago this summer, and i've never been there before.

Could someone give me some tips

Is there any street like the 5th Ave. in New York?
A good hotel, things to see, shops to go, etc...

    Thank you

I am a Chicagoan and there is tons tons tons to do -
You need to SHOP on North Michigan Avenue .. COACH is there and also a nice sized Louis Vuitton. The shops on State Street aren't that bad either , there is a HUGE MACY'S there that always is fun.
There are some other great shops there too and the Watertower mall. There are THREE OUTLET malls about an hour away (one in Indiana, one in a west suburb, and another near the Wisconsin border that can sometimes have nice finds.

You might want to visit Navy Pier .
There is a large Ferris Wheel there , an Imax theater , smaller shops (not really upscale , but fun , a bunch of restaurants , boat tours , and in the summer there are many live bands that play in the beer gardens and some nights are firework nights !!

I would say to visit some of the fine museums such as the Field , the Shedd Aquarium, and the Museum of Science of Industry.

If you like swimming (or just hanging out on the beach), the Oak Street Beach is lovely to spend a couple of hours.

You can go down to Millenium Park and rent a Segway or a bicyle.

There are many awesome pizza places such as Connies , Home Run Inn, Giordanos,
Unos, Lou Malnatis, and Gino's .

There is great nightlife and concerts going on too.

If you are here in late June and into early July there is the TASTE of CHICAGO.
There are tons of good food , free enterntainment , and awesome people watching/hanging out.
I am a baseball fan. I cheer on the 2005 World Series Champion White Sox , but about 6miles down from that ball park is Historic Wrigley Field (home to the Cubs) and it is a great place for out of town visitors to really have a good time.

    I hope this helps ---

Bex from near downtown Chicago !!!!
