Limited Edition Gap Mulberry Roxanne Bag
Katie Grand for luxury designer handbag brand Mulberry recently partnered up with Gap to recreate a new version of Mulberry’s iconic Roxanne bag for the Gap (PRODUCT) RED collection.

Katie Grand on the collaboration: “Throughout my adult life I have seen the effects of AIDS at close hand,” says Katie, “So to be asked to curate this project with Gap and (RED) has been an honor and a privilege. It’s not very often you get the chance to take designers from fashion’s more exclusive areas and make them accessible to a wider audience through a high-street icon.”

Basically it’s the same Roxanne-style minus the (quality) Mulberry materials. Instead the bag has been reworked in sweatshirt jersey. Color choices, it will be available in both red and gray versions.

On December 1st the bag was first released in the UK and Paris to commemorate World AIDS Day, and in this past weekend the bag was launched in the US, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

On the thumbs up side, 50% of the profits will be donated towards Gap’s (PRODUCT) RED campaign, a Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.

If you’re looking to get this bag in time for Valentine’s day, you will need to head on over to NYC Gap store located at 680 5th Ave at 54th St. to get your Mulberry-Gap Roxanne Bag. Exclusive at this location.

Just ordered 1 of each color from Gap NYC and the retail is $179 + tax.

I dont like how it's an exact copy of the roxanne bag. I thought they should have went a different route.. like collaborating on a completely new style.

but it does look pretty cute though...

This is a great cause and think of that $179.00 $90.00 goes toward aids in Africa. It looks cozy.

Yeah I guess it does make the bag more appealing knowing that part of the profits will be donated to people who need help. But yeah, it does look cozy...sweatshirt material!!

Oh man. I would kill to get one of these. Unfortunately, I have no private jet to jet over to NYC right now, LOL. I will definitely have to see if I can track one down on eBay.
