Default Former Kate Spade Designer Sydney Suh-Lee - OAD Mini Kit Cross Body Bag

Wow, what is it with all of these super new designers lately? I stumbled across another one today. Not because it was a new designer, necessarily. But because the bag happened to really catch my eye. Before we get to that though, let me introduce you to OAD. The company was launched last year by former Kate Spade and Calvin Klein designer Sydney Suh-Lee. According to its bio, OAD is all about combining minimalist form with functional details. Looking at the OAD Mini Kit Cross Body Bag, I can definitely see that.

Let me start out by saying I don't care Fall is just around the corner... powder blue is such an awesome color! This lovely, yet simple, pastel was paired with super clean lines and minimalist design. I love the tent-like shape this bag has. If you look at it from the side, you'll see the bottom is wider than the top. The simple rectangular sides are almost completely void of details, except two hidden slip pockets, a zippered pocket and (interestingly) two pen loops. In other words, you can keep all your tiny essentials within reach. Cute, but probably only for those who are serious about keeping items at their fingertips at all times.

The powder blue is such lovely color, but I'm more in the mood for darker shades - the Dark Wine shade is TDF.

This bag has a really basic design. I'm not really a fan of the pen loops on the exterior, to me that's sort of odd and I can't ever imagine needing to use this feature. Also the only time I really see myself wearing such a bag is if traveling - it has that utilitarian look to it.

You could use it when traveling.
I do like the wine color!
