    Default Back-to-School Style: Backpacks

Wow, it's hard to believe that we're halfway through August already. Even more hard to believe though is that it's back-to-school time. Public schools are already in session and college classes will begin this week. Where did the summer go? But hey, there is at least one thing to look forward to. With back-to-school comes back-to-school style! There is nothing more exciting that scoring an awesome new backpack for toting books and other school essentials. Yes, you heard me right! Backpacks can be super fun and, yes, super stylish too! You just have to know where to look. But lucky you, I have some delightful pieces here to get you started. Your ultimate backpack awaits!

    Fjallraven Kanken Backpack - $75
An oldie, but goodie! The Fjallraven Kanken has been a go-to style for a long time (since 1978), but it still looks fresh and new. I love the structured feel and clean lines of this "boxy" style.

    Slate Adams Backpack - $85
Slate puts a new spin on a very classic-looking style -- Pastels! The colors are so playful and fun, perfect for giving your mood a little boost. I especially love the rose/mint combo.

Herschel Supply Co. Little America Backpack - $100
Drawstring backpacks are back! I love this hiker backpack-inspired style, complete with flap closure and straps. It provides a little bit different look and it's really roomy too.

Fjallraven, definitely Fjallraven Kanken backpacks are the way to go. They come in so many fun colors and different sizes. I have a couple the backpacks (teal and a coral pink) and the laptop bag (in royal blue). They are great for day trips, and fits a laptop perfectly. However if you're going to carry your laptop all the time in there I would recommend getting the padded laptop version or purchasing the padded straps, which they sell separately.

I agree Jennifer. The regular straps are way too thin for regular laptop lugging.

I'm a bit embarrassed but I purchased a Vera Bradley (zebra) backpack a couple weeks ago. I needed a super lightweight, hands free, bag for travel. My BFF surprised me with a trip to the Florida Keys, we started off in Miami and ended in Key West. Anyway, I needed a bag to lug around the airport and also cram lots of stuff inside, without being too heavy. It ended up being perfect.
It was on sale at our local Hallmark store, plus it wasn't a crazy floral, so I thought I'd give it a try.
