KARA Tie Bag Tote
Well, this is embarrassing. I saw this KARA Tie Tote today and thought perhaps Kara Ross had some sort of new collection/line. Boy was I surprised when I looked at the designer bio on Shopbop. It turns out KARA has absolutely nothing to do with Kara Ross. In fact, the name KARA comes from the Japanese word for karaoke (yep, karaoke is big there) and the company was launched in 2012 by Sarah Law -- a Parsons graduate who started out designing scarves and bags for Gap. I guess you learn something new everyday!
I must admit, the KARA Tie Tote is a very lovely piece. The simplicity of it really calls to me. I love the smooth calfskin leather, clean lines, and minimalist details like the tie closure. You might also notice that this tote is unlined with simple pockets on either side, making it perfect for everyday things... even trips to the farmers market. I also love the neutral colors. The nude really catches my eye, but the black version is nice too. Either one would make a great staple to any wardrobe. In fact, this tote would pair nicely with anything from business attire to jeans and a t-shirt.
Available here at SHOPBOP!

Re: KARA Tie Bag Tote
LOL, yeah, it kinda does. But I love it as a simple tote too.
