Whiting & Davis Vienna Bag

This isn't something that most people think about, but Whiting & Davis has been making handbags since 1876. Wow, can you imagine that there could be pieces from this company over 100 years old still floating around out there? Talk about antique! Interestingly, Whiting & Davis handbags have not changed much in that time. Sure, silhouettes likely changed, but one thing always remained the same. Yep, that would be what this designer is famous for -- metal mesh. Most styles are just one solid color, but the piece you see pictured here is different. Meet the Whiting & Davis Vienna Bag!
The style reminds me of a tapestry. I know, it sounds strange considering it's made of metal mesh. The pattern printed features blocks of color and branching swirls, which gives it that tapestry-like look. The dainty chain fringe along the bottom also adds a more vintage feel.

Re: Whiting & Davis Vienna Bag
I think Whiting & Davis bags are stunning, and very true to vintage inspired. But if we're talking about Whiting & Davis handbags in general - mesh, ehh ? On some styles it looks amazing, like this bag pictured here! However, in general I don't think most people are really looking to spend $250+ on a bag that isn't made of leather. I wonder if they'll ever come out with a collection that includes their signature look, mesh-accents, but with more leather..
