Amazon is having a big sale on designer stuff right now, and I almost bought the Burberry Candy Check Barrel Bag. The Burberry website lists it as $329, originally $440. Dimensions given are 9 1/2" x 4" x 4" with a 12 1/2" adjustable drop from center of strap to top of bag.

I saw the bag on Amazon for around $250, with a note saying there were only 2 left in stock. It also said the list price was around $275 I think. I got pretty excited there for a minute, but then I noticed the dimensions were slightly off. It was like 9" x 5" x 4" with a 12" strap. So then I looked closer and zoomed in on both the bags, check this out:

As you can see, the trim isn't right at all. I'm sure there were other things wrong with the picture also, but that was most obvious. Anyway, I'm glad I didn't freak out and buy it, but someone bought them because in the past few hours the item disappeared. So lame!

I don't really know how to spot a fake burberry bag... well from besides the obvious details (tag, etc).. but I have heard bad things about amazon and bluefly .. selling replicas.

That looks like the shape of the barrel bag with the handle of the satchel??? And the corner trim is like the one from Amazon, light pebbled leather inside and smooth darker leather outside, instead of the smooth inside and suede outside. That's not real, is it?

Burberry did make those with the pebbled trim (as opposed to the suede trim). They have different style numbers.
