The Cambridge Satchel Company

When I discovered the Cambridge Fluoro Satchel, the Kate Spade Essex Scout was the first thing that came to mind. I mean without a doubt the style is identical with minor detail differences here and there. Also the Essex Scout seems to be on the Out over at the Kate Spade headquarters...
At ShopBop they have a bright tangerine orange in stock, but over on the official Cambridge website they have so many different options – color, different sizes, and even embossing!

The Cambridge Fluoro Satchel retails for $155

I've seen these around ... I like the shape, but they look very rigid.

Re: The Cambridge Satchel Company
I think it's a really fun bag. Also it's pretty cool all the different features for choosing your own bag on the website - 11", 12", 13" or 14" - Fluro Yellow, Pink, Green or Yellow.
Also I love that you can emboss your own purse!

I just can't believe this bag is only $150..

Re: The Cambridge Satchel Company
What's weird is that they don't have any history on their website. Actually someone left a comment over on bagbliss about this:
If I’m not mistaken, the company has been around for several decades making satchels for school children in UK. They had this info before on the site before they revamped their website. The bag got it’s IT factor after being on Vogue if I’m not mistaken, which made the bag mainstream.

Re: The Cambridge Satchel Company
I totally missed this thread. I think they are pretty cool. Don't think I could pull off the neon colors, however that purple is gorgeous!

Re: The Cambridge Satchel Company
These are neat, I'm attracted to the lime green one but I don't think I could pull it off. I agree with brynnl, a basic chocolate brown would be really nice.

Re: The Cambridge Satchel Company
I like the shape and styling on the bags, but it looks rather stiff and uncomfortable.
I definitely will not be able to carry off those neon colors...a bit too much for me.Always be kind to people on your way up, because you are sure to meet them on your way down

Re: The Cambridge Satchel Company
ShopBop.com has the 11" Fluoro back in stock. They also have this to say about the designer:
Harry Potter, eh?British label Cambridge Satchel was born of necessity in 2008, when mother-daughter duo Freda Thomas and Julie Deane were searching for a way to raise money for school. Inspired by vintage Oxford and Cambridge school satchels and the bags in the Harry Potter films, they created a messenger that was both traditional and eclectic. The cross-body bag became a hit with fashion bloggers and the company now offers a range of sizes, styles, and wild colors. Cambridge Satchel bags define classic, with a twist.
