Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch

Paula Thomas is at it again, bringing us yet another Thomas Wylde clutch with a skull theme. However, this time around she has put a little bit of a spin on the skull theme with the new Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch. This lovely clutch, named for the Mexican (and Latino) holiday that is celebrated by many people all over the world, is covered with tiny skull-shaped studs. This fold-over style clutch is composed of distressed black leather, something Thomas Wylde handbags are known for. What I find most interesting about this clutch, however, is the double chain strap. The two straps are separate from one another and completely removable. The straps are also of different lengths. So you can wear the clutch with two straps, one strap, or none at all.
When it comes to the Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch, I find myself having some mixed feelings. I love the simple, unstructured shape and the fold-over styling. I also like the tiny skull studs. But when I look at this clutch, I also think it could have been a little bit better. Instead of gold hardware, I would have liked to have seen this clutch with silver or gunmetal hardware. I'm not sure what it is, but for some reason, when I think of rocker-chic I think of black paired with silver or gunmetal hardware. But maybe that's just a generation thing.

The Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch retails for $1,500. You can pick one up here at NET-A-PORTER.COM.

Re: Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch

I am totally obsessing over this bag. I just love my skull zanzibar clutch by this designer! The leather is amazing, and the skull detailing is just fabulous.
Also I totally love the name, "Day of the Dead". I would totally rock this with my new D.O.T.D. Skeletal Hat Dance bracelet when out celebrating...
.. haha. Too bad there isn't a silver version of this bag. darn, but I would take the gold! Also a gunmetal hardware one does sound pretty cool.

Re: Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch
When I read the title of this thread my jaw dropped!! I love the Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead!! I even hosted a Dia de los Muertos party once.

I agree with bRs, I would like this clutch so much better with gunmetal or silver HW. Love it though!

I am not into skulls and crossbones, but that is one cool looking bag!!
I agree that it would look cooler with gunmetal hardware...Always be kind to people on your way up, because you are sure to meet them on your way down

Re: Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch
This says Alexander McQueen to me big time, probably because of the skull motif. Kinda cute though and i like it, even though that isn't usually my style.

Very cute, perfect timing for Halloween too.
If love is the answer, what is the question?

That would be pretty rad. I love the colors..

Oh I know. Perfect timing. I would totally rock this year round though. lol
How awesome. Do you decorate every year?
I hoping I can make it to Mexico or California this year for the event.. I'm sure my family will be throwing some event or something.

Re: Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch
Of course I decorate for it / Halloween every year but I have only had the one party. It was fun and the food was great!! Other than the sugar skulls.
I guess they are more for looks than taste.
But the sweet bread - OMG it was the best! And while it was baking in the oven my house smelled so yummy! Everyone wanted to know what that delicious smell was in my house.
Not a lot of people understand the Day of the Dead around here but I really love the meaning behind it.

Re: Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Clutch
I was just browsing aloha rag + I found this clutch in silver!
Check it out!

Now that I've seen the silver, I can't decide which one I like better. They are both gorgeous.
