Handbags by B Makowsky
hey Ladies and gents
I just came across some handbags by a designer called B Makowsky. I have not heard of him before, but he is the husband of kathy Van Zeeland and apparently launched his line this past year. Some of the bags looks awesome. I have attached pics of a few of the shoppers from endless shoes and handbags. I
Was wondering if any of you have purchased these bags and how do they carry.

Re: Handbags by B Makowsky
I ordered this one, the B. Makowsky Lisbon tote, back in January but I had to return it because it was so huge !! It was much bigger in person. But the leather and quality of the bag was awesome, I would get another of his bags for sure...

B Makowsky handbags are yummy! Excellent quality and leathers make them functional and stylish.
Lovely colors too, from the classic neutrals to some wonderfully fun oranges, yellows, reds, turquoise and more.
Great handbags; much better quality than Kathy Van Zeeland handbags.

Re: Handbags by B Makowsky
Your welcome! I actually wanted to keep that bag so bad! But I just knew it wouldn't work for my small stature, I'm only 5'2", it was just too big for me.....there's a smaller version called the shopper but it looks a little different and I wanted that one, just wish it was a tad smaller.
I think it would be great for taller women though...it's just personal preference I guess...

I love B Makowsky handbags and also love how cheap they are on ebay!!! They can go for as little as half the original cost! Can't beat that. Oh and the leather is so supple and soft as butter!

Re: Handbags by B Makowsky
Sorry for posting on such an old thread, but I am new (only posted one new thread and I forgot how I did it)... a little tutorial here would really be helpful.
I just bought a B. Makowsky Burnett Hobo (black) from Nordstrom online. I bought a 'Dunnaway' Hobo a few weeks ago also Nordstrom online, but it was too big for me - I am 4-10, so sadly I returned it. I love big purses but this was just way too big.
Anyhow... my husband who is my quality control person, says that this Burnett, looks great, well made, and quality leather... BUT he says the shoulder strap leather doesn't match the quality of the purse leather, and is very thin and looks like cardboard, and is stiff. It is not even one piece, it is two pieces sewn together in the center.
The one that I returned 'Dunnaway' Hobo had what I thought was their signature colorful pink and some other colors, I forgot. This one has a tannish canvas looking lining. Which will probably show dirt. I really like the multi colored lining. That is not my main concern - it is the quality of the shoulder strap.
I read one review on Nordstrom online, that the strap broke and she had to replace the purse ... I have no idea how often or how long she used the purse. Not having seen the strap in person, I thought that maybe this was just an unfortunate one time thing and ordered in anyway. Now, after seeing it ... hmmmmmm
Have any of you had problems with Makowsky quality, especially the Burnett Hobo?
Thanks.

Re: Handbags by B Makowsky
Thanks. Since Makowsky is a new brand for me, I too know nothing about it. Sold on QVC and TJMaxx . which I found out here after my purchase .. doesn't exactly add to their 'snob appeal' :-) I would be depending on Nordstrom's generous return policy if the strap did break .. but who knows how long that might take, if ever.
Plus, being a purse addict like you guys, I never use the same purse over and over on a daily basis. Some sit in their little cloth bags for months and months at a time. After all - they are my treasures, not my socks!
