^^^ If mine were meant to be slippers then why so they have a hard rubber sole and they lace clear up to my knee?

First of all WW your attitude is all wrong .It is fine not to like things but to insult others who do is ....RUDE ! This was not a who knows more about UGGs or who likes UGGs post .
I put insoles in mine and also have insoles in my Chucks.;P I know my SIL bought a pair of actual UGG slippers and they sell a pair on Victoria's Secret too .They are marketed as slippers though .They also have UGG sandals and such for summer there as well. They may have started out as a slipper company but now they sell the boots and stuff as everyday wear over here(USA).No one looks silly wearing them .I would think someone wearing a pair of "slippers" that laced to the knee a little silly actually! My "slippers" "slip" on .

    ** found on wikipedia**
The ugg boot style is believed to have originated in Australia or New Zealand, although the exact date is uncertain—they have been, at different times, identified with pilots in World War I who are said to have worn them for warmth in unpressurized planes, shearers in rural Australia during the 1920s, surfers and competitive swimmers who wore them in the 1960s and 1970s for keeping warm while out of the water. In the early 2000s, they became a fashion trend in the United States, leading to increased global sales.
Does not say anything about being a "slipper"....

Just for the record, this is the style I was referring to...

I have also see high heel/wedge boots by Ugg.

But hey, let's not argue or be rude to one another.

I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous.

Sorry, I wasn't being rude intentionally. It's just weird to see people using them as every day shoes. We always have a laugh about it down here. Although, strangely enough the youngin's here like to follow you guys and are starting to wear them outside too, but it's not a common thing. It's very weird to me (and every friend and relative I have). I really wasn't trying to be rude, just honest. That's just how I am. I didn't say anyone couldn't wear them...if you want to, go ahead, but it's a silly concept to me, that's all. They'll always be slippers in my eyes and the eyes of my friends and relatives. *shrugs*
