MILAN — The Galliano accessories line that officially debuts today rounds out the designer's diffusion world.

Like the secondary apparel line that launched for spring 2007, Galliano accessories are licensed to Plus IT for design, production and distribution under a five-year contract. Plus IT is IT Holding Group's accessories division.

The collection is made up of 100 styles between bags, small leather goods and belts. Luggage and travel-friendly trolleys for modern globe-trotters complete the lineup.

The fall selection includes a variety of styles infused with iconic John Galliano details such as prints, appliqués and embroideries. Many styles come in multiple sizes and shapes, from messenger bags to doctor's styles to hobos.

The "romantic" theme features the Galliano logo in blush pink and decorations that include gemstone embroideries, lacework, heart-shaped metal charms, keys and the letter G.

On the prints front, there's a gazette motif in black-and-white or shades of brown. The "pirate" look is a tad more mannish with shades of gray, black and deep brown, and folk-inspired details.

Materials include faux oilskin leathers, washed nylon, distressed calfskin with a vintage feel and kilim-printed corduroy.

Wholesale prices range from 80 euros, or $117 at current exchange, for a feathered evening clutch to 400 euros, or $292, for a large leather tote decorated with charms.

According to Giulietta Martelli, Galliano brand manager, the accessories will be carried in Plus IT's 75 stores worldwide as well as department stores and other select points of sale. "We are inundated by requests so we're still evaluating our choices to finalize the retail list," said Martelli, who declined to disclose sales projections.
