16?!?! My lord. I could not imagine having a child at that age.. talk about limit your opportunities in life. I'm 23 and I cant even imagine having a child right now.. (i know im getting up there )
LOL! Jennifer, don't be ridiculous! You're not "getting up there"! I'm 3 years older than you and I have absolutely no intentions of having kids ANYTIME SOON! I think most career-oriented women nowadays choose to wait until they are well established with everything in their lives before they have children. Hehe... Brittany's little sis on the other hand, just preferred to... well... you know.

Yeah, there are rumors that her TV show is going to be canceled because she is supposed to be a role model for preteen aged kids. They don't want people to think what she did was okay... but I don't think the show should be canceled. There was a psychologist person talking on the news about it and she said they should use this to help teach kids about such things.

Eh, they'll learn about it soon enough and in more appropriate manners. They don't need their fave 16-yr old TV role models "teaching" them. I hope Disney shows her the door.
^^She's not with Disney, she's with Nickelodeon . It was all over the news last night. Hm, I don't think Jamie Lynn Spears could be an example. There are so many movies, news, info on how to prevent pregnancy, health class teaching about teen pregnancy...if those things don't do the trick, I doubt SHE will, ya know?

Does anyone knos if nickelodeon is gonna cancel her show?? I agrre it was an honest mistake, it could happen to anyone but to me this is not a good example for all the kids wathcing her show.
who cares... at least she is responsible enough to keep the baby and not get rid of it. Good for her. Now i do agree she is TOO young to deal with a child.

I don't necessarily agree with the psychologist that was talking about using this as an educational example... but I don't necessarily think they should cancel her show either. Isn't that sending the wrong message too? "Oh, you're not perfect so off you go to the trash shoot". As far as kids learning about sex and teen pregnancy goes... no, they do not do enough teaching in the schools. And parents need to get out there and talk to their kids about these things before they are old enough to be interested in it. It has been proven that teaching abstinence or not talking about it at all does not prevent kids from having sex... in fact, its has the exact opposite effect. Okay, done with the soapbox stuff now! LOL!

I don't understand the "you're not perfect" bit. There's a lot of room between being perfect and being a terrible role model. And, IMO, a knocked-up 16 yr old is a terrible role model. I also don't understand the "honest mistake" description. Unknowingly carrying a fake bag is an honest mistake, lol. Teen pregnancy is the result of stupidity, sloppiness (and another s-word). She doesn't need to be idolized on a TV show that loads of 10 year olds watch. I'd like to see her booted off.
I don't think you're necessarily the "s word" if you're 16 and pregnant, lol. She had been dating her boyfriend for like 2 years...somewhere around there. I just think it's really irresponsible and I hope she can make it through. I would not want to be a 16 year old mom.
