The fashion icon Isabella Blow, ended her life by drinking the deadly weed killer Paraquat, a coroner revealed yesterday. Mrs Blow collapsed at her country home in Gloucestershire after telling house guests which included hat designer Philip Treacy that she was going shopping. She died in hospital on Monday at the age of 48. Her husband, Detmar Blow had told The Times that his wife died of cancer-after she had been recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. But at the opening of her inquest yesterday, the deputy Gloucestershire coroner David Dooley said that tests on her body had tested positive for Paraquat. Further toxicological tests are said to be undertaken before a full inquest is held in October.

Mrs Blow’s funeral will be held next Tuesday in Gloucestershire Cathedral, where she was married.
