    Default Paying for your bags

What do you do to pay for your bags? Are they carefully thought-out purchases you save up for? Impulse buys put on credit? Do you take out a second job for a large collection, lol. Do you get them as gifts? Just wondering.

thats a good question. (im curious too ) back when i had a job i use to just buy a bag like every other pay check. Very quick decisions which I now regret. now that I'm currently unemployed (start another soon) I've been on a bag-diet.

i pay for them - i usually look for great deals though. i splurged when i first got a job - but i'm wiser now (and paying rent and utilities and etc. etc. etc). i make pretty good money doing what i do so i can afford what i purchase (even if it is at times completely outrageous). i don't use credit cards anymore - only have 2 just for REAL emergencies and so it's nice to not have debt!

Hmm... I try to look for good deals most of the time. I love it when Dillards has an extra percentage off their sale items! It's a great way to score some cheap Coach. As for more expensive items, I generally decide what I want and then save up for it. If I'm looking for a discontinued item, then I usually decide how much I'm willing to spend and then hit sites like Let-Trade to see if they can come up with anything for me.

I try to plan my purchases, but too many times I've come across that "great deal" and impulsively bought it. I need to cut that out. Alas, forums like this don't help, lol.

For me, Bag Bliss usually pays for my designer clothes and some handbags (advertising & affiliate programs). beyond that it's coming from my bank account or my boyfriends pocket ( ). but im starting a consulting company soon to help pay for my obsession. i dont really put anything on credit cards, because they are so annoying to deal with. if i do it's usually a small purchase that i will pay off when the bill comes around. but yeah, i hate those impulse purchases! its like i will plan to go get a pair of shoes or something, then as im walking out i see a bag thats marked down to like $500 from $2k or $90 from $200... sweet deal, but i usually get sick of those bags pretty quickly and forget that i have them > present time!

Jennifer, is BagBliss the bagforum? Good for you! Most of us just waste time on the net, you actually make money off it, lol. Congrats!

Jennifer, I didn't realize bagbliss was a separate blog site. Again, congrats, what a great, productive thing to do!

Roxanne -well, I hope at least you have some great bags from that shopping spree, lol

As for me.... savings.... My parents give me money for neccessities like clothes, shoes, food, gas, school stuff.... and they don't believe bags and makeup are neccessities.... so when I can slip a hundred dollars or two from "SCHOOL CLOTHES", I put it aside and hold on to it.... also, since I didn't go away from home for college.... (i'm taking my basics in my hometown), they have more to give to me.... so once my semesters are paid off for the year, they'll usually give me left over $$$ from their savings.... Also.... they give me $20.00 a week to buy food at school or coffee before class, and skipping meals keeps me from freshman 15 and adds up to $80.00 a month!!!! Score!!! So I have my saving techniques.... and in the end, when I get a HOT bag, it's totally worth it!

Most of you seem to be in college. Funny, I wouldn't have dreamed of buying designer bags when I was in school. No money for it whatsoever. My bag was my L. L. Bean backpack, lol. How times change.
