I'm sorry to hear about this, bRs. It sounds like you have the support of your adviser and if she could explain your mitigating circumstances to the head of the financial dept, hopefully it will all be OK. It doesn't make sense for them to ask for the money back over one credit if you are not able to pay them. Sounds like more administrative costs.

Nashville - They wouldn't be able to take away certain things, but they would others. I have some special scholarships and grants that are only for full-time students with 12 or more credit hours per semester. One of them is called the SMART grant, which is only for science or math majors. There is no such thing as online classes at my school, but I don't think I need to take any BS classes anyway since I'll have 15 credit hours NEXT semester no matter what.

Alright, I talked to my adviser. I have to take the credit hour that I dropped. She talked to the head of the financial aid department and they told her there was no way around it. So I'll be taking the credit hour and receiving an incomplete. She said I could complete the internship during semester break (which lasts from Christmas until the last week of January) and hand everything in that needs to be handed in once I complete it to receive credit. This is going to be such a pain because I was hoping to work as much as I could over break.

Hmm... I've been thinking about this more now. I would have to get this done before Spring semester starts. If you guys remember, my classes are going to take up a good portion of my days. Not being done until 2:00 on some days and 4:30 on other days. And I'll be working on the weekends. You see, I can't be at my internship after 4:30 because nobody is there after that each day during the winter.

LOL! Yes, over one credit hour. I really don't see how it should matter if I'm taking 15 credits next semester. Let's see 11 plus 15 equals 26, so that would be 13 credit hours average per semester. That sounds like full-time to me, but what do I know! LOL! Well anyway, what the financial aid person said to my adviser was actually false. But it was the financial aid person that she spoke to when she called them prior to me dropping the credit hour (someone in the office). They said it wouldn't hurt anything, but they apparently were wrong. The person who contacted me afterward (head of the FA department), is the one who had the right information about it. Maybe this is what I get for qualifying for all those fancy grants and scholarships.
