Thread: Did I buy a knock-off???

Hi everyone! I bought a MK bag yesterday that I'm very suspicious was a knock-off. The reason I still bought it was that if it's real, it must be very rare for me not to have seen it before. Here are some pictures of both the exterior and interior: MK Red Astor 002 (768x1024).jpgMK Red Astor 001 (768x1024).jpgMK Red Astor 003 (1024x768).jpgMK Red Astor 004 (1024x768).jpgMK Red Astor 005 (1024x768).jpg There are several reasons I suspect it's a knock-off: 1) The shoulder strap chain looks different than the normal kind of chain, 2) The MK Hangtag is attached with a clip, which they normally don't do, 3) this isn't the usual kind of MK lining, 4) The redness of the leather has some dark areas to it (can't really see from the pics) 4) This looks like an Astor, but the studs on the front are of lower quality than the ones on mine at home, plus the Astor doesn't normally have a pocket on the back, and 5) the zipper pulls don't look like most MK zipper pulls. The store where I bought it is a major chain store, so the only way a knock-off could have made it's way in is if someone attached one of their price tags to it and returned the bag to a cashier who didn't know the difference. Has anyone seen this bag before, and know whether or not it's authentic? The leather also, by the way, doesn't seem as nice as most MK leather. Fortunately, I can return this if necessary. I have the Astor Large Leather Chain Shoulder Tote at home in 4 colors and they ALL have magnetic snap closures -- you're correct. That was one of the things that made me scratch my head too...Which is why I was questioning whether this is a differerent variation of it or just a knock-off. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi! Thanks so much for re-confirming my suspicions. There are too many things off with this bag, that I don't want to risk keeping a fake when there are genuine MK bags available to me (which I need money for to buy today, so this return will help with that!). FedUp, you have been especially helpful to me since I joined this forum and posted several questions, so a super-big thank you for sharing your knowledge!
