All I can say is OMG. I went up to LV in edinburgh yesterday with my speedy to see what they could do. Ended up with a right hassel having to speak to the manager. He treated me the worst I have ever been treated by somebody that works in a shop. He was rude, accused me of damaging the bag, being careless and I when I questioned whether the bag complied with the Sale of Goods Act, he literally laughed at me and said, I quote, "You don't know what you're talking about". I am appalled by the way i was treated, so I'm going to post my bag to London and if I have to pay for it to be fixed, then thats just the way it goes. I took the managers name and I'm going to write a letter of complaint to LV, perhaps in Paris and I'm going to try and find out if I can send it anywhere in the UK also. Sorry if this is a bit muddled, I am so annoyed when I think about it. I travelled two and a half hours to get there with the bag and I was basically insulted by the manager. I have NEVER been treated so poorly. At one point I actually felt the need to tell him he was arrogant, it was that bad. It really has put me off buying LV, I can honestly say I won't be buying eny LV products for a very longgg time and maybe even ever. I think for paying such high prices for bags I expect high end service, however, I received the service I would have expected in McDonalds, perhaps even worse. I'm really upset about this and I hope that when LV receive my letter they will do something to rectify this Sorry for the rant and muddled explaination, but I'm not very consice when I'm so angry about something lol.

Omg Rach that is awful! I don't think it is even possible to abuse your bag that much in a month! You should have told the rude SA that HE was the one who didn't know what he was talking about. If I were you, I would put a call in to Vuitton's CS number and see what they say. You should not have to pay for this to be fixed!!

Oh that is soooo appalling!! I am so angry for you. It's so awful to be stressed about your bag and then get treated like that. Definitely write that letter... gosh what else can be done? I had a bad experience yesterday as well when I bought my cell charm. The SA was cold, sullen and mono syllabic. She said to me "Do you want to see something" like i was a pest. and the only expressions on her face were blank, annoyed and rolling of the eyes. I almost said to her that I don't want to be served by her. I left feeling really yuck about my purchase. So I exchanged the charm at another store and which had super friendly staff and I told them about my experience at the other LV store and they said they've heard complains from other customers about the other store before. And they themselves thought the SA's over there were quite arrogant. I travel to Singapore quite a bit and the SA's warned me that Singapore has some of the rudest SA's . And there are 4 stores there. So this is an international problem which even their own staff acknowledge.

I know, especially when I know myself that I have been SOOO careful with the bloody thing! I've emailed LV asking for an adress to send the complaint to. It was honestly the worst service I have ever recieved. I have had customers shout at me at work before and I have NEVER been so rude to them. He was such an idiot and awful. I just hope he gets an arse kicking when I send my letter.

Aww its awful to think that you got bad service - and u were buying!! The guy actually said to me, when I pulled him up saying his service was ibismal, that I received good service in Paris because I was buying. To me, a high end brand with such a prominent reputation should give excellent after sales care aswell. Its just shocking that these staff have such an arrogance, especially when the money that the store is making is because of us - the customers!

This guy is an idiot! Good customer service does not mean that you treat someone nice because they were BUYING!! Even so, there is a thing called repeat customers?? When I was wanting to return my charm, I got better service at the other store which encouraged me to get something else in exchange which was actually more expensive than what I had originally bought. I feel like punching this arrogant "what rhymes with banker" on the face.

That is just awful. I agree that if you're going to spend a lot of money for a high end designer bag, you should get treated that way. I hope that LV does do something to rectify the situation.

Done...I think...Until I find something that catches my eye

Goodluck rach I know what you girls mean about rude service, some designer shops won't entertain you if they didn't think you were going to buy, some people just think they're so above others.... I agree that nobody deserves to be treated rudely, blimey especially when you're in retail!!!! and you're a manager! My DH would've had a go at him.....

(cos the last time that someone was rude to me just because I was Asian [yes this is true it was very racist] my DH had a go and filed a huge complain and the person ended up making a formal and written apology...)

I hate rude SA's. The ones at the Caesars Forum Shops in Las Vegas are quite rude as well.

Thanks for the support girls I actually emailed LV for an address for UK HQ and the girl seems helpful and has taken my contact details, my complaints letter and has asked for times, dates and names of the incident. She said that the matter would be investigated if I provided this information. I think I may send off my bag to a larger store, maybe in London or Birmingham tomorrow to see what their verdict is. TBH I think this is absolutely hideous, I am kinda in the position where I am having to explain myself as though I have damaged it. It is so disheartening to have to go through all of this. Hope no one else here has to deal with anything like this!!

While we are on the subject of SA'S....is it normal for a SA not to hold an LV for someone????? I called today to get a shimmer held for me and she said it was not 100% guaranteed that she could hold it for me. I have bought 3 bags, 1 wallet, and 1 cosmetic case (over 6000.00) in this store in the last month and a half. She looked up my name and profile so she can CLEARLY see I spend a lot of money in this place. I would have thought with a customer who comes in often and never just looks but always buys, that I would def. have a chance at getting a bag held. Maybe I am feeling a little holier than thou but come on! Is this standard procerdure?

I don't know anything about their holding procedures, but I would imagine that they do keep them for people. I have heard people saying that they've called ahead and they've found bags from elsewhere for them. I would imagine it probably depends on how arsey the SA is. They seem to be a law unto their own.. its disgraceful really!
