Blush Anyone ever been to Hong Kong?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post! But it kinda relates to LV....

Ever since I saw "Italy Station" and their auctions, I was curious about Hong Kong resellers. Apparently, there's this big chain of stores called Milan Station (Milan Station 米*站) and they have a lot of used designer bags. And there's also a France Station, Paris Station...and other "station" stores that sell a lot of designer merchandise, including LV. Unfortunately, Let-Trade doesn't have an actual store; he only sells online.

Has anyone ever heard of these places? Or shopped in there? I might plan to go to Hong Kong and I want to get some good designer deals!

I'm really looking for LV, but I hear that the stores also carry Hermes, Chanel, Prada, and Balenciaga....

Oh, you're so lucky you're going to HK. It is a shopping haven! Definitely check out those stores. I've been to HK but never been to these stores as I couldn't afford it at the time! LOL! LV is huge in Asia. Everyone from regular people to socialites carry LVs so there is a huge reseller market there. You may want to bring an empty suitcase to fill up with all your shopping.

I'm so jealous! Actually my DH would have a panic attack if we ever go to Hong Kong again!

I'm really aching to go! I really want to go to the reseller shops...I've been doing a lot of research online, but no one has a direct answer as to whether the goods are cheap or not.

I know that Japan resellers ARE really cheap; I went there, and I was floored at the prices of the used LV there! You can get a gently used Cabas Piano for $250!!! Of course, there was a lot of overpriced bags in Japan, but that's if you are trying to buy brand new merchandise. The LV retail in Japan is much higher than in the United States.

juicyholicmum - yes, please ask your friends for me. I would love to know where they are!

Oh, and here's a picture of what a Milan Station looks like:

I'm still planning on going, so I'm not sure if I'm *definitely* going to Hong Kong or not...but it'd be great!!!

Is there a big risk of buying fakes in these places? I am just curious. I have a friend who lives in Japan but never asked about the bags because I assumed they were fakes coming out of there (I know, I shouldn't be so closed minded!). I guess it is like polish pottery or something....it is real cheap in Poland!

hi I_heart_LV.. just found what we are looking for.. browsed some baghag blog and i found this...

    * I'd love to share the info with you all-- Milan Station is located in Causeway Bay (HK side), within walking distance from Times Square Mall-- just ask anyone there-- the security peeps stationed outside the mall should be able to point you in the right direction :) There are also 2 other "stations"-- Paris Station, and France Station. Additionally, there are also branches of Milan Station and Paris Station located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Officially, the addresses of Milan Station are: 77-83 Percival Street, Causeway Bay; 26 Wellington Street, Central; 81 Chatham Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. There are more stores, but these three are the most accessible. And, they are all located in the street level :D And you can get 2nd hand authentic designer bags there at reallllly good prices!! (Haven't heard anything negative about them yet, so it's all good so far!)

KANMP - There is a risk of getting a fake wherever you go, which is why I stick to buying certain brands 2nd hand (such as LV) and not others (Balenciaga). I'm pretty good at spotting LV superfakes and moderately good at some other brands. I carefully inspected some of the bags in Japan...and they were real. I didn't land any fakes, but that doesn't mean that there are some out there. You just have to be careful and know your stuff.

I did see some girls in Japan sport fakes...I don't know why/how they'd do it! Practically everyone in Japan carries some type of expensive designer, whether it's Hermes or Louis Vuitton. I thought the fakes looked pretty bad.

LV_aficionado - if you could give feedback on these places, that would be awesome! Let us know.

Huh..that is strange with so many girls walking around with fakes. It's really too bad that there are so many out there. It's like everytime I see a fake bag it takes the value of mine down another dollar or something! I know a girl who used to get them somewhere off of the internet...offer or something like that...and she had a ton of them. I was not comparing them next to a real one, but they sure looked nice. I am no expert, though, so maybe now that I own some I could see the difference. She really thought some of hers were real, though, because they had receipts, dustbags, etc. But she paid like 100 dollars or something and they were brand new (and they stunk)

Oh, well. Like you said there is a chance of getting one anywhere second hand so it is best to do research. For now I will just get them new until I can tell the difference myself and know what to look for!

Okay...found more information. Apparently, some of the "gently used" items are only slightly discounted. Hopefully there are actual good deals (meaning the prices are better than what I'd find on ebay) at the stores themselves.

However, I have heard that you can find some discontinued LE items there...most of the HK ladies apparently do not want to wear bags that are out of season.

I have read that you might have a better luck finding really cheap prices with Gucci, Prada, and vintage Chanel...hmm....

Honestly, that's one bad thing here in JP. there are quite a number of women who actually think the LV they purchased or purchasing are the real deal since some off house shops sells vintage bags and like to give LV card that "prove" its authenticity. I've found a site on ebay blog where the owner explained that LV doesn't give out authenticity cards etc etc and so I sent her that. felt a bit bad for putting her down but i guess its a lot better than her paying tons of money for fakies. I am a newbie LVphilliac and the safest way i get a bag is buying the pre-owned ones, if i'm not sure of it, i ask the ladies here :D I really suspect off houses here in JP gets their fakies in Korea, the largest fake LV manufacturers are there. no offense meant but i've been there and they said i can even give them a drawing of the bag i want and they'd do it using rejected LV leathers.

On Topic: If you ladies ever been to this shop, could you please let us know the street or where to find this shop. Thanks!

I think the next best thing from getting a new bag is a pre-owned one from reputable sellers like let-trade, malleries, authentic_lvlady etc. I've only recently started buying online and on ebay and cross fingers no bad experience yet. but from some of the negative stuff I've heard about private ebay sellers, i would tend to stay away.
