Default Malleries is Way Too Expensive

Many of you have heard of the luxury reseller (as well as antiques, etc.) site Malleries (Luxury Goods: MALLERIES). I go on there to check out their inventory and to see what LE items they're selling. They sell everything from Chanel, to LV, to Hermes.

However, some of their prices are INSANE.

    Here are some examples:

Stephen Sprouse for LV Leopard Scarf
Malleries price: $1750 - Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Leopard Scarf: Malleries: Live In Luxury
    Vuitton.com price: $675 - Picoodle / picture Image

    Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy 35
Malleries price: $1850 - Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy 35 Bag: Malleries: Pamela Z Luxury
    Vuitton.com price: $1270 - Picoodle / picture Image

    Louis Vuitton Watercolor Belt
Malleries price: $715 - Authentic Louis Vuitton Watercolor Belt White Limited Edition Richard Prince: Malleries: Always In Style Luxury Goods
    Vuitton.com price: $480 - Picoodle / picture Image

Louis Vuitton Miroir Heart Coin Purse
Malleries price: $525 - Louis Vuitton Gold Miroir Heart Coin Case: Malleries: Pamela Z Luxury
    Vuitton.com price: $400 - Picoodle / picture Image

Granted at one point most of those items were very hard to get... but don't you think sellers should do their research before listing an item well above retail, especially when that item is available?

Has anyone else found a site like this, or a place where people put crazy markups on items?

Wow, some of the price difference is huge!!

Lilstrlett, I'm about to put an LV speedy on layaway from a seller on malleries.com. They're all guaranteed authentic, right? I've actually put the link on the LV authentication thread.

Yup everything on Malleries is authentic! Most sellers are MPRS (even though sometimes that doesn't mean much)

What the heck. What's with the price increase?? I can understand if it's sold out or something, but some of the bags are currently still available.

    Weird.

Wow, thank you for posting this - I quite often look there as well, either for authentication or simply to browse and dream, but I had no idea some of their prices could be so inflated! Thanks for sharing

I go to this site a lot to look around and like Jennifer said, other items are quite reasonably priced. I'm getting something from there very soon and I think I'm getting a good deal. I think yeah, you need to definitely shop around first.

It looks like you did some very good research lilstrlett. That will help all of us. I like to think I can always tell when a price is way inflated but it sure would be a burn to get ripped off. You are right though. There are some very good pieces on that site.

Not all of the shops at Malleries are. I just purchased something from Pamela Z Luxury's and since a part of the item was broken (which she fully disclosed) she knocked it down to $100 (from $199) which was really cool! Originally the piece cost something like $499-$599 (I forgot what she said she paid). And the overall look of the piece was perfect, absolutely flawless, except for that one thing.

If you message her she's really nice and willing to work with you too!

    Here's a pic of what I bought:
