Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I've enjoyed your posts and pics. I really really want to get myself a LV monogram speedy 30. I've been eyeing it for over a year. I just checked on the price, it's now $685 but was $600 last year!! Do prices vary by department stores vs. eluxury?? Do prices ever come down a bit seasonally? Perhaps I should just get one ASAP before the price goes up again? I'm still waiting on my hubby's "okay" as well as my own mental block of finally getting something so expensive. But maybe I should just get it before the price increases even more? I know it's such a versatile bag and a good investment.

Final question: is one ever enough??

prices are the same across the board.. Sometimes you won't have to pay sales tax if you buy on Eluxury.com LV never has sales or discounts or coupons.

You could always look for a used bag from a reputable seller like let-trade.com to save some $$ OR find one on eBay but remember to post pics here to have it authenticated.

Hello and welcome! I am getting a Damier Speedy and was saving up for it and now the price has gone up. I called up LV and they couldn't guarantee that prices won't go up again in the next few months. LV prices never go down. So, if you really want to get one, I think you should do so as soon as you can. I think the LV mono 30 speedy is always a good investment as it's timeless. eLuxury doesn't charge tax so you can get it cheaper. I've got a mono pochette bought 5 years ago and it is still beautiful and I'm hoping with my speedy, it will last a lifetime!

And if I really love the Damier, I may just get an epi speedy.

hi welcome.... yea ITA with the other girls if you want to buy one, get one now if you can as LV constantly increase their prices... but yea there are a lot of really good deals for preowned ones, but you have to be careful with fakes... Have it authenticated first!

and ummm... one is never enough luv, once you pop you can't stop! lmao!!!

Thanks for the replys! My new quest for a LV handbag led me to Let Trade and my Poupette.com. The question still remains, how do I know these eBay sellers are authentic or not? Just because the eBay seller is my-Poupette-endorsed, what does that mean exactly? I looked at some of the sellers, there's like 20-30 such Poupette-endorsed sellers and they all have 2-4 pages of auth LV products. Where do these seller get their stuff? I know that LV only authorizes eLuxury as an on-line seller, so did these ppl get real LV products to sell? I suppose Let Trade is a safer option, but there's still that linger of doubt. . .Anyways, I'm still a little confused. I suppose the safest way is just to buy from eLuxury, huh?

Most LV sellers on ebay are consignment shops, say for example you want to sell your authentic bag, you can send it to them and they sell it in your behalf... true ebay is scary but there are a lot of authentic items for a good price as well... MPRS sellers are sellers that was approved by mypoupette.com to sell authentic items, I think they go through an intensive process to be MPRS... but I wouldn't really trust a seller just because she says she's MPRS, always check feedback... :)

I would recommend let-trade.com and authentic_lvlady, as they are good communicators and it makes you feel safer to deal with them. Otherwise, you can always go to elux.

So, I think Jessica Simpson has a very enviable collection of LV handbags. But why does her LV monogram speedy 30 always look so formless and flat in pictures? Is it suppose to look that way? Is that what the speedy 30 looks like after aging? Jo De La Rosa (Real Housewives of OC and Date my Ex on Bravo TV) has a worn out-looking speedy 30 that's very droopy, too. Do people actually use base-shaper in their bags? Because I've also seen pictures of the same speedy 30 looking boxy-shaped and new-ish. I know that the handles darken with use and time, but does the shape actually loosen, too? I'm thinking about getting the monogram speedy 30 because it's such a classic, I love it how that Audrey Hepburn carried it, too!

Sorry for so many questions, just a curious LV lover newbie!

the speedy sags, it's not with age it's just the way it is, even my mini sac sags. don't buy a base shaper just use a magazine or something hard inside the bag so it doesn't sag

some might have gotten it from LV bag sellers who bought bags and never used them.. IDK, but I would only trust let-trade and authentic_lvlady and oh emaishida from Japan.
