Default What's the best LV bag to save on?

Hmmm... I know LV bags are out of my price range, and I know it's too expensive for me but looking at the photos of the gorgeous bags here I'm kind of drawn to it, but at the same time feels guilty if I spend money in such a bag.... so.... I was thinking to start a bag fund for it, I just want one bag and then that's it....

I like the Multicolored ones but my husband bought his ex-girlfriend one before and I don't want to seem like a copy cat, and I told him that the beauty of the bag doesn't suit her (I'm sooo bad), and that it costs so much, now I want one too what a hypocrite!!! lol.

What do you suggest is the best bag to save on? I'm giving it a few months to pool up the funds, probably buy it on Xmas or something.

i would say the best one to save for, since it will be your first LV, would be the Speedy bag in either Monogram or Damier. I think it retails now for like $685 (?) But this bag is such a classic and worth every penny. You will love it and have it forever...and it will never be out of style. I prefer the 30 over the 25 and 35 because I think it is the perfect size.

let me ask you, did you have your heart set on something from the MC line? .
Wishlist: * LV Vernis Alma PM or Brea MM * LV Mono Speedy 35 * Medium YSL Y-Mail Tote *

Not really... I just always thought its more "me" and I think the alma is pretty... but now, I think the Damier Azur Speedy 30 would be perfect...as I have a bub and it looks lovely...

really is it only $ 685? I'll have my hubby check as there is an LV shop at the corner near his work here in Melbourne

^i love the damier azur speedy - that would be a great choice! though i would only carry it during the spring and summer. but you live where the weather is always nice, right? so yeah, that would be a great bag to have!

and that price is correct. here's a link: Louis Vuitton - Damier Azur Speedy 30 - eLuxury

Juicyholicmum, if you think a bag from the multicolore is more "you", the I say definitely go for it. It is a lot more expensive than the brown LV signature, azur, etc. But every now and then you can find a gently-loved bag on ebay for alittle bit less.

thanks for that Alicia, does this shopping site actually ship to Australia? or the price is the same with the actual LV shop? it's actually winter here now but Melbourne's climate is crazy that it sometimes feels like its spring...

I just saw a lisitng in eBay of a damier azur speedy and I just stopped... I fell in love with it. I love the material too because having a bub puts all my bags in danger of stains. plus my husband gave me his old card holder that's a damier ebony, I took it as a sign.

If you have a baby, I wouldn't get the multicolor. It is so easy to get dirty and the colors would attract the child and they would want to touch it. And you CANNOT get mad at a baby if they get your bag dirty...they don't know better. I would probably get the standard brown monogram if I had a kid because the brown would be harder to dirty...however the Damier Azur is lovely as well. I haven't ever actually touched one (I have been to the LV botiques) so I don't know what the fabric is like and if it is easy to clean.

I have the Speedy 25 in monogram and love it. It is perfect for year round. Classic. I like the azur but think it is too light for winter.

You should get a Speedy. If you don't want to buy a new one, you can get a pre-loved one like Jennifer suggested.

Let-Trade has a pretty well loved one right now:

It's only $350 (that includes worldwide shipping). This one has seen some lovin', but I've seen others on there before that are in newer condition. But hey, just think... no worries about babies putting a blemish on a brand-spanking-new bag!

Thanks for the suggestion, I might actually consider the monogram one, and I'd love to get this one it's really cheap but I'm not looking to buy now, I really want to save for it, so I can buy one for Christmas! :)

I wouldn't buy an Azur speedy off of eBay, many people on there...even experts the fakes are VERY close and hard to tell from authentic ones.

I'd get a speedy 30 in damier. It's not as much to keep up as the monogram 30's patina is.
