Default lv multicolor question

Do any of you own multicolor purses and also a multicolor wallet? I was thinking about getting a wallet but was afraid that the red lining color would transfer to the white on the wallet or onto the leather

I own multicolore bags, but no multicolore wallet... I do have a Burberry wallet, similar to LV canvas... which is light in color... and it doesn't transfer... then again, their canvas quality is different, so idk about the mc accessories inside of mc bags...

I have a MC Alexandra wallet (but no MC bag ) but, I've never had it transfer in any bag that I've carried, I also carry it with my MC agenda in the same purse and it has never transferred to that.

I've heard about the MC transfer from the red alcantara lining...I think if you take a white tissue and rub it along the inside of your bag, then you can get an idea of if it bleeds and how badly. The lining of my damier speedy bleeds a little; I can see it on the edges of some of my stuff. Not too badly, though.

I do have a purseket in a light tan color, and the red alcatara lining of my MC bags DOES transfer to the purseket...

I wonder why they use the red alcatara...and not the gray that they do in the black ones? Wouldn't that make sense...

I thought the color transfer problem was only prevalent in the first line of MC to come out... I thought they had fixed it after 2006 or so, but maybe I'm wrong. I have a MC Trouville I bought in June of 2004 and it does bleed onto other things (like a damier azur mini pochette).

Sad Re: lv multicolor question

Last Saturday, I purchased my first LV(Multicolor Rita) in the evening & immediately carried it to dinner. When I came home after 3 hours, the red dye on one handle transferred onto the other handle. I immediately returned this defective handbag to the boutique the following day. They promised to give me a response to my demand for an exchange within a week. I am still waiting for their response.

I am now wondering about the wisdom of getting another multicolor LV bag. What if the second bag also leaks color? I really wonder if this is a common phenomenon. I paid so much (HK$18100) for it. Never in a million years would I imagine that color would leak from the handle edge.

So weird... I have 2 MC bags... and 4 MC accessories.. and the lining from my bag has NEVER transfered to the accessories. Even when my handles rest inside... they still don't get any color transfer. Maybe it depends on the bag?

i actually think its the YEAR the bag was made. bags made in 03 and 04 will transfer color and they are defective, esp. in the alma, so basically if you take your bag into LV they will replace it (well at least that is what they do with the alma)

I got my Pochette in '03 it doesn't transfer at all. Maybe b/c it's small. And my Audra is from '06.. so you are probably right because it def. doesn't transfer.

...but my 07' MC Trouville lining does transfer to my beige purseket. For that reason... I stopped using my Purseket.

I'm so pleased I joined this forum. When I came back from dinner & found my new LV transferred color, I was about to cry. How could you pay US$2320 for a supposedly high quality product & color leaked? It's now more than a week since I took the bag back to LV & I've yet to hear from them. Now I'm wondering what LV bag I should get(which definitely doesn't transfer color). Any suggestions here? Basically I still want to get a multicolor item. TIA!

After waiting for more than 3 weeks, I finally got a call from LV asking me to pick up a new bag. However, this result didn't come about easy.

Last week, my LV SA told me that their likely verdict would be "non-defective handbag". I told them that if that would be their verdict, they had to accompany my returned handbag with a photo & a statement stating that color transfer is normal for their handbags & thus this condition does not constitute defectiveness. And as a parallel action, I would take up the case with the Consumer Council.

I have no idea whether stating my intention had any bearing on their decision. But I am happy that finally I got a replacement bag & I certainly hope everything works out fine this time.
