    Nashville,

I posted up there somewhere that I did find this bag on ebay

    Item #: 140221599633

Yes, you are right that's the bag the seller says it is.
I did google and found a newer looking one here:

    Ann's Fabulous Finds

THANK YOU so much about the warning on buyers. I could see
someone doing just that because I'm a big nobody on ebay
    (just starting out).

The boutiques I did go to had bags there waaay cheap (and
they looked bad too). One was $65 and one was $125.
I may not be Chic - But I'm not stupid!

Thought about going to get it authenticated with my camera.
Asking the saleslady to give a thumbs up if it's authentic.
Somehow I don't think that would fly at Neiman Marcus!

I also thought about going downtown, standing on a corner and
twirling it around! <--- I'm so kidding!

^^^ Sorry I'm a little late in the conversation. Nashville is right, that is a Monogram Mat Fowler. Everything looks fine in the pictures... at least everything that I can see. Can you get a clear pic of the date code? It should be located on the interior leather border that the zipper is sewn beneath... near the corner of the closed end (e.g. you have to unzip the zipper all the way).

I posted above somewhere the date code MI1002 - Honestly, Honestly - I cannot for the life of me get the code to show on a picture! It's so dark in there!

It's right there, etched where it's upposed to be It's so close to the end of the bag, by the zipper - I can hardly open it all the way to see with two hands, let alone with one hand and the camera in another. This bag is stiff, I'll see what I can do tomorrow with a helper and the sunlight! It's clear I'll have to get it authenticated at the store. But, I do want to get all and any pics you guys think I should.

In the meantime.... You guys are great! thanks for all the help thus far!

(Also, don't know what it is, but after reading some of the posts, I beginning to understand your love of bags... ) Must leave for the night before I'm completely corrupted!

Also, when trying to get close-up pictures use the macro setting (I think that's what it's called). It's the button with a flower by it.

You could have it authenticated by Caroldiva on eBay. She charges like $5 and is great to deal with.

Just click on this link ( Page 1 ) for her info and on how about to get your bag authenticated.

What a great find, last time I went to a store like that to buy old beat up suitcases for a project they were selling obnoxiously fake LV's for $15-30.

My Poupette.com - Designer Authentications may help too, you pay $5 to get a bag authenticated (or de-authenticated like the $600 LV MC Audra that I bought on ebay MyPoupette replied after I already bought the bag. The person was horrible and would not take a refund like they stated they would, and my mom wasn't sure and waited to long to file a claim, so I got screwed)

    Good morning Ladies,

Okay, a zillion pictures and one very annoyed husband later... I posted the best pics of the date code I could manage to get. Here's the link again:

myNetImages - Free Gallery and Image Hosting

Please let me know if it's sufficient.

Thank you so much for the tip on my camera. I had no idea what the flower was!. Also,
the advice to contact caroldiva is great! Before I came here I found Mypoupette and when I first saw it, I thought it would a sham - seeing as LV won't even give you something in writing authenticating.

Also, when I googled caroldiva, I found nothing but praise for her. Mypoupette seems to have some unhappy customers. Seems they take a long time to respond, and when they do, they give a very vague answer. Is this true? Seeing as I paid pocket change for it in the first place. I wouldn't mind sending it to both. However, if infact mypoupette give vague authenticity - Would they stand up for you against fraudulent buyers?

Also, they're located in Westlake Village CA - My aunt lives 15 minutes away from there
It says that it costs $75 to authenticate if you mail it them. Wonder what they'd charge for in-person. They're a maybe. But Caroldiva is an absolute. Wouldn't mind mailing the bag to her either.

I don't think there is much to do against fraudulent buyers...except maybe take official checks only and wait for them to clear before mailing the bag. Some people won't bid, is the downside (I don't like to bid on anything that I would have to actually go to the bank to get a check for because I am busy/lazy like that).

On the bright side: at least if you had a fraudulent buyer youw ould really only be out the $3.50 you paid for it, unlike other peopel who pay almost full price and then sell it for some quick cash in an emergency...

Good luck in whatever you do!

Kimmie - You bag looks authentic to me. Everything looks good. The details, the zipper pull, the LV heat stamp, the date code... either the bag is the real deal or someone went through the very painstaking process of creating a perfect replica (which is unlikely, LOL!). If you plan to sell it, it would be a good idea to have it authenticated just so you have some proof that it is real since you do not have a store receipt or anything like that.

One last question before I leave your world and go back to
    mine.

    Carol siad looks good.

I'm not expecting to throw it out there and get it sold in a week. T'would
be nice! But highly doubtful. I'd be willing to take personal checks but
they would have to clear the bank before sent (of course). Kinda stinks
having to be at the mercy of the highest bidder.

What is a decent selling price for a bag with damages shown? Retailed
originally for $800 - Saw one in excellent shape sell for $500. The other
one on ebay (I'll wait for hers to expire out of respect) is $395 starting
bid and the buy it now price is $495. Also in great condition.
    So, would you say $295?

I'm new w/Ebay and this forum. I bought some LV purses and not sure if it's authentic. Anyone knows who is an expert in San Jose area and do you happen to know if it's a lot of trouble getting your money back since the sellers didn't offer any returns or refunds.

I really do hate Ebay customer support, can't get a hold of anyone.

The quickest way to get help is to post some pictures here on the forum... you'll get the most attention if you post them in the Authenticate It thread in this section.
