Personally I would get one. My cousin went to Paris 2 years ago and took pictures of the Louis vuitton store for me and it is gorgeous I would love to go their! I'm jealous! Plus it would be a great vacation gift to treat yourself to. I'm going on a cruise in July and planning to go to the Louis store in San Juan Puerto Rico when we stop there. My only dilemma is which bag too buy! Luckily I have plenty of time to decide.
I agree with everyone else. It will be a wonderful memory that you will never forget!! To buy a LV in Paris, ahhhhhhh.... Of course Paris pronounced "Pair-eee"!
Still can't decide and so confused a/b VAT, customs claims, etc. But everyone is convincing me to just get it whilst in Paris!
I attached 2 pics of the interior of the Galerie Lafayette, this huge huge department store with gorgeeeousss wrought iron fencing and beautiful ceiling. They even have a Hermes perfume counter! Drool! This is where I went to check out the Cruise 08 Speedy 30 Croisette (sp?).
The other 2 pics are the LV headquarters on the Champs Elysees. I walked by and it was prettyyyy.. such a huge building! I have not yet walked in, but hope to get a chance before I leave.
Also, I saw a man on the M4 train line who I *THINK* works at LV. Just b/c he was carrying a signature brown LV bag and dressed extremely nicely and had a gold pin w the simple LV logo attached to his suit jacket lapel.
Totegirl,
I don't know where you are from, but with the value of the dollar against the euro, you may find it surprising that for some LV items, it is actually cheaper for you to buy it in the states (if you are from the US, as i am assuming) than in Paris. You will be limited to the number of goods you can bring back, and with LV price increasing this week, you may find yourself paying either the same as if you bought it here in the states. With that being said, if you have NEVER been to Paris, the idea of buying anything luxury from there, LV or not would make your vacation more memorable......just keep your receipts and make sure the SA at Vuitton or wherever gives you the right VAT forms to fill out. Then you can deposit the form at the airport before you leave. Good luck and enjoy Paris....c'est une ville magnifique !!!!!!
