Wanting a LV for my birthday...advice?

I'm really wanting a LV bag for my birthday coming up in March. My boyfriend said he'd help pay for one as part of his gift to me. I don't want to spend more than what a speedy 30 would cost though. I'd either want a Speedy 30 or Alma. If I bought the speedy I'd buy it from eluxury.com, if I got the Alma, I'd buy it from a trusted seller on ebay. I'm leaning more towards the damier speedy since I've never seen anyone with it, and I've seen the monogram everywhere (and I've seen mostly fake ones). AH, I have no idea!

Any thoughts?

Are those the only styles you're interested in? I think a Neverfull would be a nice choice too! Aren't they going to have it in Damier soon?

Or the Tivoli! That's such a pretty bag! And since you're leaning more towards a handheld style...
It's more like the price of an Alma though.

I do like the Neverfull, but I wish it had a zipper closure. They're all out of stock on eluxury.com

My vote is for the Damier Speedy 30 or the Neverfull MM. I have not seen the Mono Neverfull as much as the Mono Speedy. Speedy's are a great LV starter bag!

It's up to you...do you want a hand held bag or a shoulder bag? The Speedy30 and the NeverfullMM are the same price. HTH!

I like hand held and shoulder. I think I'd prefer the damier looks wise though. I really want the damier, that's why I'm leaning more towards it. This would be my first LV bag, btw.

Hm, I still some time to decide, this is hard!

My vote is the Damier speedy! Oh course you can't really go wrong whichever you choose!

My favorite is the Speedy style. I don't really like the alma anymore. I have it and never really wear it. What I dislike most about the Alma is their isn't feet on the base, and the bottom edge has slight denim marks from rubbing (apparently nobody else sees it but me

).

Speedy - what's not to like? It's been around for years..As for the damier vs classic. Humm. That's a tough one. I'm leaning towards the damier. I like how the leather is already dark, so it will look brand new for years

Anyway, all are great classic style, no matter what you choose it will be a great decision.

Can't wait to see!!

Definately damier and I would say the speedy. I adore them and just think they look adorable, especially in the damier, personally I prefer the azur but that's just me. I would buy one if I could stand a bag that is meant to be handheld or on the arm, and I don't like having to rummage through it with the zipper in the way. They're too cute and classic to pass up if you like that type of bag. I think the 30 is my favorite. The 25 is a bit too small and I love the look of the larger bags.

And lucky you with getting your boyfriend to do this for you! Right now that's my birthday plan to get the neverfull haha! I think ill go in half for the PM or MM for my birthday, I really want the damier azur and can't wait until its out, but I still want the monogram. I'm planning on treating myself to one or the other when we go on a cruise this summer.

It seems as you are leaning toward the Damier Speedy 30, so I say go for it!

I would choose the Damier Ebony over the Azur because of denim transfer and such. Too hard to keep clean IMO!

I am really wanting some Damier...

I say go for the damier speedy 30! It pretty much goes with whatever you're wearing; I got mine March '07 and it's still in excellent condition, even though I use it a lot and I'm not the most careful person when it comes to bag care!

I just got the neverfull PM. It is a great bag and it's actually 20 dlls cheaper than Speedy 25. I saw the speedy 30 but I think it was too big for me. I am only 5'. Go for the damier, its such a nice design and you dont have to worry about patina in the handles. Speedy handles get so dirty after time but wont have this problem with damier leather.

I'd also suggest the Damier Speedy. It sounds like you are set on Damier, and the Speedy 30 is the perfect starter bag. It's a classic you will have and love forever!

GET A DAMIER SPEEDY 30!!!!!! I'm in love with it!!! I am making it a Goal to get one This Year!!!! Get it! Get it! Plus, the Speedy is roomier than the Alma... and i'm not Crazy about the Neverfull... (the handles are waaay too thin, i've seen it myself). You will not go wrong with a Speedy... and the damier version is great! You won't regret it. Good Luck!

I am going to go with the damier, but, I think I'm going to try to buy a nice one off of ebay (I'll make sure it's authentic!). I'd like to save a hundred bucks or so and get a deal, lol.
